Details of your catches:
Fishing was quite tough in very hot conditions - 30 degrees+ every day. 16 carp caught: Commons of 53lb, 45, 42, 40, 40, 37, 35, 34, 24 Mirrors of 43lb, 38, 37, 32, 32, 31, Grass Carp 39lb 10 of the 16 fish were caught at night. Excellent stamp of fish
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Virtually all fish were caught middle of the lake on either single boilie or pop-up. Swim 1 produced 8 fish (6 from LHS) & Swim 2 also produced 8 fish (7 from LHS)
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes - they are a bit of a walk but you get used to it! Freezer could have been a bit larger. Charging points were limited in number although bailiff Mark rectified this matter in the week - he was very helpful during our stay.
Were you happy with them?
Yes

Details of your catches:
Swim 1 (dam) - Simon: Grass Carp 41.4, Carp 50.2, 45.1, 51.6, 36, 30.12, 27.0, 33.0, 46.12, 47.5 Swim 2 - Mark 42.0 mirror, Graham Carp 49.8, 35.0, 35.0, 43.0; Grass Carp 44.0 plus 8 tench to 5.4 All fish were in superb condition.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
We tried everything to get carp to feed when they seemed to be preoccupied with bloodworms. Carp mainly caught on boilies, but one took a prawn and another on a small pop-up.

General Comments:
We fished this venue several times previously and caught lots of fish on boilies, especially from swim 2. This time the fish didn't cooperate - they were all down the dam end of the lake and were preoccupied with bloodworm. Most fish were caught at night (in previous trips we caught mainly in the day). Small pike were very active - we caught several when reeling in boilies and also had several rigs bitten off when using method feeder.

Details of your catches:
28 carp by two anglers, fished swim 1 until the Tuesday and then swim 2 rest of week. 3 x 50s at 50lb 4oz, 50lb 4oz and 50lb 8 oz, lots of 40s and high 30s. Two large 40 plus grass carp, 4 tench and a small common of 5lb, fished far bank, margins, mid lake and all caught.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Double bottom bait plum boilie tipped with plum wafter, triple maise on hook and straight double bottom baits all worked well.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes, a distance from lake but as had campervan with us did not need these facilities at all. Portaloo between swims provided also.

General Comments:
Fished through Angling Lines for years and always a faultless service. Venue bailiff Mark Slade always a friendly face and helpful if needed. Brie is completely secluded and beautiful, will definitely be booking again.

Bottom baits on D-rigs. Tried pop-ups but no fish caught. Baited lightly with boilies due to few fish showing, spodded pellets. Fish caught mostly in near margin or middle of lake.

General Comments:
Mark warned us that fish were spawning or preparing to spawn due to warm weather in previous week. As a result most fish were at the far end of the lake (nearly 300m from middle swim!) and not showing. As a result our plans had to be adapted and we drastically reduced the amount of boilies used (in the dam swim we only threw in 50 boilies per angler per day) once we saw that fish were not being caught (in previous trips when fish were feeding well we used a lot more bait). Weather cooled during the week (temp dropped from 16.5 to 14.5 by Weds) so some fish moved down to our swims in the second half of the week. No fish seen rolling or bubbling in our swims (unusual for this lake). Fished one rod for tench against dam margin and caught 6 tench as well as 2 bonus carp. Despite lack of interest from fish we didn't blank and fish were a good average size.
