Details of your catches:
11 carp to 42lb including 42lb mirror, 6 x 30+commons and mirrors, 32lb grass carp and 3 x upper twenty plus mirrors
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Slow sinking bottom baits over bed of Quest Baits Magnum Duo rehydrated in Quest Baits Naked Hemp.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes
Were you happy with them?
Brocard Large is a wild woodland venue and we knew in advance that there were only basic toilet facilities on site. Some customers may find them unacceptable. The off site showers at Brienne Le Chateau were very basic but clean and warm.
*Angling Lines note - We're very happy to say that Brocard Large now have clean and modern shower/toilet facilities onsite as of April 2014*
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes certainly, a beautiful and peaceful venue with a high average weight of carp. The smallest fish we caught was over 24lb. Its a venue I would love to return to.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes I already have.
General Comments:
Well laid out venue with lots of space for each angler. Some of the swims are only suitable for bait boats, casting will be a problem. Good solid track around the venue and flat hard swims. Swim 9 is closed to vehicles if the ground is soft. Barrow required under these conditions.
The fish are in excellent condition with some stunning commons.
Franck the bailliff is welcoming and cheerful and has plenty of knowledge of the venue. He visited regularly and was very helpful.
We had no problems from crayfish or poisson chat. This is a no frills anglers venue in a great location with a good head of large carp. Like the other Bachelier waters I've visited anglers seem to be loyal and regular visitors.

Details of your catches:
Over 20 fish between us with only one fish less than 25lb. We both caught carp to over 40lb.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Quest Baits Magnum Duo boilies soaked in Naked Hemp, with hook baits consisting of ½ a pop up and ½ a bottom bait fished over a couple of kilo of free offerings.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Exactly
Were you happy with them?
As expected
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Definitely to those who want a true drive and survive with minimum facilities.

General Comments:
A superb venue that I would definitely like to return to. What more can I say?
I would warn though that this is very much like U.K. angling without the facilities on the lake that many have got used to and expect in France. There are showers available just a short drive away.
