A stunning natural venue, each swim has loads of room. My 3rd visit to the lake and I've enjoyed every trip. Mark and Anita are great hosts and Franck is very helpful for all your needs.

I would happily recommend the venue and go back myself. A decent bait boat is essential though.

General Comments:
I lost 12 fish in snags, which you have to fish to, as this is where the majority of fish are.

General Comments:
I would like to say we were the only paying customers on the lake. The French bailiff had allowed his son to fish on the lake, knowing pegs 2 and 3 were producing fish and did not give us the opportunity to choose a different peg, even though we were the only customers that had paid to fish. Mark the bailiff turned up Monday and said the French bailiffs son and his mates were leaving and suggested moving as all the fish were on swim 2 where his son was fishing, we moved everything on Monday afternoon and fished peg 2 and that’s where we caught ALL of our fish no sign of fish at all on our original peg 4. I feel as we were the only paying customers on the lake the French bailiff should have given me the opportunity to choose a peg as he knew which pegs had been fishing best I think it was out of order he put his son on the peg that had been clearly fishing well before offering me the chance to choose a different peg knowing full well no fish had been caught on peg 4 for weeks . *Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate how frustrating it is when the fishing is slow. We have discussed the points you have raised with the bailiff, Mark. It is correct that there were anglers fishing from swim 2 at the start of your trip. We understand that swims 1 and 3 were available if you had wished to move earlier. Mark has also advised that fishing had generally been slow over the past few weeks across many lakes in France, including Brocard, and that this was not an issue isolated to swim 4.

General Comments:
it was our 24th trip to France. We prefer the shuttle as opposed to the ferry so a choice would be better for us. Brocard small has a good head of carp even though we didn't catch any big fish, there is plenty of evidence they are there. A point that might matter to some anglers is that having to fish locked up all the time we couldn't night fish as at peg 3 the bivvies are too far back from the rods, by the time we crossed a foot bridge across a stream then the road track the fish were already snagged up. So as we hadn't had one offer in the middle of the lake we stopped night fishing. One definite plus was Franke our contact there, he's full of good information and knows the lake. Another plus is that there is a very good fishing shop in Chateau la Brienne, well worth a visit for tackle or bait.
