Details of your catches:
we caught over 100 fish between us, with many lost as well. carp to 53lb, cats to 87lb, grass carp to 37lb.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
we caught from both open water and far margins. fishy baits did better than sweet baits, hardly anything on tigers.
Were the facilities what you expected?
basic but clean and adequate. If taking padlocks make sure they are thin gauge.
Were you happy with them?
Yes.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes, we go back in September.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?

General Comments:
Was a hard weeks fishing by Cailleaux standards. On our previous 2 trips we had over 120 fish on the 1st trip and over 70 fish on the 2nd trip. The weather had a part to play in this weeks fishing with torrential rain and night time temps down to 2 degrees. We ended up with 34 fish for the week with the biggest being a 50lb Cat. Another really enjoyable week though, Sébastien and Cyril couldn't do enough for us during our stay and were always on hand if we needed anything. We are already booked for next year and cant wait to get back to Cailleaux.

Details of your catches:
Couple of the guys caught cats and grassy's, which they hadn't experienced before and I had a new pb cat at 86lb.
Grassy's up to 34lb
Cats up to 86lb
Carp up to 28lb
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Most fish were caught on small various yellow baits apart from my big cat which was Catfish specific baits and tackle. I don't think you can overfeed the lake as there are too many big fish in there and most baits will work.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Facilities basic but adequate.
Were you happy with them?
Yes until the last day, everyone packed up ready to leave, just needing a shower and change. 1st one in nice hot shower, the rest of us then had bloody cold ones, and they were cold, lol.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes. Didn't have a great week this time but that's fishing.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Always, never had an issue and always on the ball.
General Comments:
Positives: Couple of the guys caught cats and grassy's, which they hadn't experienced before and I had a new pb cat at 86lb. David Vasseur was a great host, popped by most days just to see if we were ok and top up shower tokens, but left us to it. I was in contact with him all the time and he responded on every occasion (Shower block power out, boat required to fetch cracked off spods etc).
Negatives: Was here in 2021 and had a great week (87 fish) with lots of everything, this time with 2 new guys and was a disappointing week less than 30 fish. Two of us pub chucked solid bags out when we arrived and apart from 1 lost big fish (suspected cat) we had bream under 5lb. It seemed that all the mirror & common carp were in the top shallow area amongst the trees and underwater forest, either spawning or just finishing off (our opinion) as only 2 were caught all week both from that peg (10lb & 28lb). Between us (mainly either end of the lake) we had a few cats and grass carp (25-30), which between 4 on a runs water and sometimes fishing through the night isn't great. There was quite a lull in the fishing even for the Cats and Grassy's mid week and from what I've read since (basically trying to get an idea as to why the fishing wasn't as expected) it seems the fish in France don't respond well when it rains, and we had two days of heavy rain. Pegs could do with shoring up and levelling out at the waters edge, the concrete edging was the only thing stopping us going in the lake. We had a lot of rain and this made getting to the edge quite treacherous, just backfilling with gravel would be a big improvement also cutting and rounding off metal poles.
