Duquesne Facilities
The simple lakeside cabin has no frills, but provides a comfortable place for cooking, relaxing and keeping dry when the weather turns. It is an open plan room with sofa (which turns into a double sofa-bed if required), dining table and small kitchenette.
Whilst it is possible to sleep within the facilities using the sofa bed, we'd describe this more as an angler's cabin and perhaps not 'proper' accommodation. If you do choose to sleep here it is possible to fish the closest double swim at night, as long as you have your receiver and are quick out the door!
Kitchen Facilities
The kitchen is equipped with:
-Fridge/freezer
- Kitchenette with 2 ring stove top
- Microwave
- Kettle
- Coffee machine
- Cutlery, pots, pans, plates etc
Bathroom Facilities
Within the cabin you'll find a small bathroom containing the shower and toilet. The toilet is a composting dry toilet. There is also a second dry toilet in another outbuilding.
Outdoor Space
Outside you'll find a table and chairs, with a cover to provide shade. There is a BBQ provided for your use, please bring your own charcoal. To the left of the lakeside lodge is a petanque/boules court and table tennis table.
Utilities and Power
Due to the location, power is solar but provides lighting and enough electricity throughout the week to charge items etc. However, we do ask that you are mindful of the fact it is all solar powered - for example early in the morning you may need to wait a little while for enough hot water for a shower. Please avoid using large amounts of electricity at night, we suggest recharging your phones, bait boats etc during the day when solar power is more abundant.
A gas heater (and gas bottle) are provided free of charge for your use. There is no WIFI here, but phone signal and 4g coverage is generally good.
Water
There is no mains water supply and therefore, a filtration system in place to make the water clean for showers and washing. The water is not drinkable so you need to bring your own bottled drinking water.
Bedding and Towels
You need to bring all your own bedding (pillows, duvet, covers) and towels. Tea towels are provided.
