Nathan Nabs New Lake Record!!!, 1st Jul
Six and half year old Nathan White, here for the week on holiday with his dad Stuart, landed himself a new lake record with a 14lb 8oz Grass Carp.
For the record, Nathan outwitted the fish with a Club-mix Squid & Octopus boilie combined with a pink pop-up, snowman style, at 9:45pm on the 13th of July, about 30 foot out from the BBQ Corner.
Well done Nathan, you showed the big boys how it’s done! Lee :)

Lake Lauren gets New Cats for 2011 Season, 1st Jun
The gradual stocking of additional Catfish has begun on Lake Lauren; so far this year we have added an extra eight Moggies to the existing three which go to around 65lb+ and by the end of the year we hope to have a further ten to fifteen more to go in.
Although some of these specimens may be lightweights at the moment, many of them should be around the mid-twenties to low thirties for the 2011 season and should give some fantastic sport. This is all part of our long term plan to create a dedicated Catfish lake alongside our Specimen Carp lake.
Over the last 3 years we have moved some 450 smaller carp from Lake Lauren up to Lake William to grow on, and they have! From 2011 onwards we will also see a steady re-stocking of Lake Lauren from this grown on stock, including several stunning Koi to around 18lbs.

Particle Back on the Menu, 1st Jun
Prepared Hemp is now back on the menu here at La Gléhias, along with Maize.
Recently, our supplier of Hemp closed down and we were unable to source it anywhere else locally. I was a bit gutted by this as I have always thought that Hemp is one of the best Carp attractants available.
We are happy to announce we have now found a new reliable source and can offer it for sale once again. We stopped stocking in prepared Maize due to poor performance and sales, but because of the recent number of carp catches on the stuff, we have decided to start selling it again.
The fish were fed on a mix of maize and 7mm Carp pellet all through last winter, which may explain why so many Carp have been caught on it this season compared with previous years.
The Baits we now sell are;

Season Starts with A Big Splash!!!, 1st May
What a brilliant start to the season; a second 40+ fish has been banked here at La Gléhias just eight days after the first!
First off, Roger Hemming sets a new lake record with a 43lb 10oz Mirror on the 19th of April, and now another mirror has come out at a staggering 43lb Caught by James Penfare of the Penfare Party.
Amazingly, just two mornings after this, Simon (also from the Penfare Party) managed to land a 39lb 7oz mirror from the reeds. To make the fishing a little easier for some of our younger anglers, we stocked in a batch of low to mid 20’s last summer, but this seems to have had little effect on our current average weights which are well and truly up around the 30lb mark at the moment, with almost every other fish out being a 30lb+ showing fish weights have rocketed over the winter.
It’s also been nice to see anglers and fish alike have been basking in the roasting heat recently and making the most of the BBQ at the lakes while leaving the rods baited in position for the big Carp.
As well as the Carp coming out heavy, we have seen what we believe to be our smallest Catfish set a new Lake Record of 55lb 2oz; we would love to see what the biggest one has done if anyone can manage to land it please!!!
