Q: How much bait will I need?

We recommend at least 10kg of boilies and 25kg of pellets per week.

Q: What bait do you recommend?

Bigger baits are essential here. Boilies need to be 20mm minimum, to discourage smaller fish. Sticky Baits Krill or Manilla (depending on what the fish are currently into!) as well as the corresponding glug/liquid is the most effective bait to use. The lake pellet (15mm) is essential, as the fish love it, and are fed on it all year long.

Q: If you supply bait on site, will I be able to get more bait during my stay if I need it?

We sell all of the bait products on site, and carry a decent quantity in stock. Should you wish to order large quantities, please contact us six weeks before your arrival.

Q: What hook size do you recommend?

Size 2 or 4 are ideal. We also recommend using heavy leads of 5 or 6oz, which are available to buy on site.

Q: What breaking strain of main line do you recommend?

We ask for minimum 18lb mono, no braid.

Q: What is the surface of the swims - can I use bank sticks?

The gravelled swims are unsuitable for bank sticks; pods are recommended and available for hire.

Q: Do you recommend use of a bait boat?

You ideally want to use the provided boats for finding spots as well as going out to land fish. Bait boats are allowed, and always handy for baiting up once you have established your spots.
