We had 73 carp including a 51lb mirror common Carp. We could have fished harder and had more but we were more than happy with this as at night we couldn't keep rods in the water!

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Big beds of Marks particle over a bed of boilies and hemp. We fished mostly bottom baits and snowman rigs With size 4/6 hooks with a German rig.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes - we have fished Jonchery before. The lake peg is well maintained, the facility for washing/cooking and charging are more than adequate to accommodate all anglers.

Were you happy with them?

Yes very much so, wear shower, decent fridge and freezer space and plugs to charge your kit... not much more you can ask for!!!

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes - Jonchery 7 is action packed ideal for those who are new to angling and fancy a run, or for those who fish harder venues and just want some action.

I want to say a big thank you to Mark, Anita and Donald, it was a pleasure to see you guys again and they all work tirelessly to cook the particle, meals and keep the lake looking tiptop. Thanks again Anita for the Mojitos :)

Mark was doing everything he could to help anglers put fish on the bank in extreme weather!

Details of your catches:

116 carp including grass carp.
What we weren't told about or expected was the lake was full of bream which were a pain. Constant bites from 2lb bream is not what we expect going to france for big carp. We all took smaller baits than we would have done had we known about this issue. Pellets and particles were a waste of time.

*Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback. It is highly unusual for bream to be a bother on this lake and not something we have seen in reviews previously. Whilst we do see some from time to time, they are usually far outweighed by carp, which thankfully was also the case on this week. However, we fully appreciate that they were not listed in the 'fish' description on the venue page and we have now added this as a head's up.

Were the facilities what you expected?

A bit underwhelmed. Only one toilet and shower shared for the 3 lakes. Basic but clean facilities. Freezer struggled to keep things frozen in the heat.
Drinking water was a bonus.

Not amazing but manageable

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Need to remove the bream and a lot of the silverfish. Almost ruined the trip and no details about this on the website. Completely changes how you need to fish and what baits to bring order and use. The carp stock is very impressive though!

Also emailed with questions about the trip and to order bait before hand and never had a response. Seems like owner/bailiff only responds to Facebook enquiries but this wasn't detailed in angling lines info. Once there couldn't fault the service, very friendly and there to help but also let us get on with the fishing.

*Angling Lines note* We have discussed with bailiff Mark, unfortunately because the email had an empty subject line it went into the spam folder and was missed, we apologise. Emails are checked and the venue is also contactable by phone or whatsapp (included on the info pack).

Baitboating to far margin on set markers and keeping the area topped up seemed to work

Have been before so no issues, nice clean shower and washing facilities with charging points to charge you batteries up

No problem at all, Mark and Anita do an excellent job of keeping the place spotless

Yes definitely booking through Angling Lines is a pleasant experience no hassle. The venue itself is keep clean and tidy, the fishing can be prolific if you fish it right and keep the bait going in

Fantastic holiday, some lovely fish caught, no mosquito this time which is a massive bonus, most of our fish came at night time with just a few in the day
