We had 4 fish a 16lb 12oz common , 26lb 9oz common , 52lb 3oz common and a 33lb 9oz mirror weather was against us it was 15 degrees when arrived and -3 when we left if we would have had a more stable weather front we would have had more fish.

Pop ups fished 3 inches of the bottom to the far margin and right hand side margin

I’ve been fishing in France since the late 90s and it’s the first time I’ve used Angling Lines and will be using Angling Lines in the future for all my trips, takes all the hassle out of organising ferry’s and collecting money from everyone

General Comments:

Obviously we can’t control the weather and the weather was really against us for the week I think if it was minus 2 all week the fish would have been more stable and willing to feed I can see the potential in j7 that’s why we have booked for next year and fingers crossed we have more stable weather

General Comments:

Really enjoyed our time there. Mark and Anita are lovely hosts, meals were lovely. Mark is great and very helpful nothing is a problem.

Details of your catches:

Another great week on J7. Only fishing 10am-10pm we had a total of 63 fish and lost 13. Best fish for Dave B was 46lb mirror, Dave P had a 52lb common and my best was a 38lb common. We had a slow start mainly due to the heat of Sat/Sun then it got better as the week went on. A surprise for me was to catch an immaculate 7lb tench. Only 2 grass carp caught this trip and 4 bream. We had a storm mid-week.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

We used mainly D rigs with bottom baits (J7 plum) lots of pellets and hemp/maize. Nothing much from the usual far bank areas and found open water area's produced regularly to showing fish until we found some 'hot' spots.

Our third visit so we knew the facilities were good.

Absolutely.

Of course it's perfect for our elderly group of 3.
