General Comments:

Best family fishing holiday we’ve been on so far! The accommodation was lovely and clean, and had everything we needed. The fishing absolutely did not disappoint. 33 fish caught in total during the 7 days and everyone left with a new PB under their belt. Mick the owner is super friendly and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fishing holiday in France!

28 fish with an average weight of around 32lb. Biggest of the week 44lb

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Simple approach, scattered boilies and fanned rods out. No bait boats used, give the fish room to move while fishing less than half way out, 50-70 yards.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities were excellent for our families, kids enjoyed the games room when they finally came out the swimming pool. Kitchen and bathroom were more than adequate, plenty of beds for everyone.

General Comments:

Highly recommend as a family friendly venue, easy fishing for the anglers that choose to keep it simple. Plenty of choices to keep the kids entertained, swimming pool, hot tub, pool table, darts and ping pong as well as a good size tv in a well seated living room.

Details of your catches:

We caught six fish between three anglers. The hot conditions (nearly 40 degrees at times) meant that night fishing worked best. Even then, it sometimes did not drop below 20 degrees! We had three fish in the 30s, two in the 20s and a 16lb-er! They were all in immaculate condition and the lake was stunning. One of us fished four nights, one fished two nights and one fished three.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

We used basic hair rigs - about a foot or slightly over hooklengths - with tiger nuts from the parti mix bought at the lake and a slow sinking sweetcorn topper for all fish. Lake owner Michael did a great job of helping us find the best spots and adopt the best tactics.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Very good. The pool was a welcome haven in the really hot weather and the outdoor BBQ and games room provided plenty of entertainment for our 8 and 11-year-old. The Lodge is of the highest standard and ensure we had a fantastic holiday.

Were you happy with them?

Very! We used the games room, pool and hot tub and had a couple of BBQs as well.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes - absolutely.

Yes - everything was hadnled well and any queries or changes were dealt with promptly and efficiently.

General Comments:

I would hope to visit again - maybe in slightly cooler conditions. Despite the fishing being a little tough in the hot conditions, we all had an amazing holiday at Mystique and Michael could not have been more friendly and helpful.
