Holiday Feedback Form Name of customer:
Bill Holcombe Venue: Mas Bas Date of holiday: 11-11-2006 to 18-11-2006
No. of persons fishing: 1 Brief details of your catches: 14 fish, best 40lbs., one 30, five 20's, 7 doubles What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Fishing baits close to structure (lilies, islands etc.). Echo sounder on baitboat showed bottom to be very flat and featurless.
Were the facilities what you expected? Facilities were great Were you happy with them? Very much so, first time had been given towels at a fishng lake
Would you recommend the venue to a friend? Family holiday with a bit of fishing - great. For serious carp angler - out of season like me!
Would you recommend our services to a friend? Angling Lines are the best, why bother with the rest
General comments: Have had to alter my brag-sheet, the 40 made it to no. 2.
Not sure if I agree with the big strong hook theory, lost four fish to hook pulls in the lilies, 'the big one' straightened a size 2 Fox 2XS, hate to think of the mouth damage that caused. In my opinion much better a smaller springy hook.

Tim Naisbet Venue: Mas Bas Date of holiday: 09-09-2006 to 16-09-2006
No. of persons fishing: 2 Brief details of your catches: Around 10 carp - largest 42lb, 4 others over 30lb. Rest good doubles/ low twenties. All the fish were in absolutely excellent condition. Several small cats too. What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Snowmen & single 20mm baits in the margins & off the lilies. We tried the centre of the lake but with no success. Start of week was very hot & the fishing was not too good but as the weather deteriorated the fishing got better. Didn't have much trouble with the Crayfish as others seemed to have? Used Giles Quest baits & some Crab & Onion boilies given to us by the other anglers on the lake.
Were the facilities what you expected? Yes delighted. We stopped in Lotus last year & Lake House this year - both superb! Were you happy with them? Yes
Would you recommend the venue to a friend? Yes - this was our second trip & I hope to return next year
Would you recommend our services to a friend? Yes
General comments: Giles & Lesley are lovelly people. I never get tired of Mas Bas - its such a lovelly spot.

General comments: We had never been to France before and were nervous as we have three young children... but we found the journey to be an adventure. Thank goodness for DVD's and the convenience of service stations every 10 to 15kms! When we arrived Giles and Leslie made us feel welcome ensuring we had everything that we needed, eg. coffee/tea milk. They were very helpful in giving directions for local amenities and places of interest as this venue can be a great place to set as a base to explore southern France. We stayed in Lotus cottage over looking Lotus and Main lake which has a shared pool that the children loved. Before we left Bridget phoned to confirm there was a cot for the baby. She had been to Mas Bass for a holiday one week previous and gave me some brill advice on rigs, what features to fish to and bait to use (thanks Briget - much appreciated) I decided to fish the Main lake which as you can see by the fish caught this is the place dreams can come true! While I was setting up my fishing gear Brendon who was staying in the Lake house introduced himself. He had been there for a week and had 22 fish up to 30lb. I took his advice for where to fish and also Giles who is always on hand. There is a catch report book going back 4yrs - this is a 'must' to read if you want to catch. I picked three features straight in front of the peg at the end of the garden the bridge at the island, red/green bush far bank, green bush farbank - fishing only 2 of these and baiting the other. I also fished to the lillies behind the island and caught 39lb 5oz Mirror and in the margins past the island which produced 48lb 6oz Mirrror this was caught on Quest Smokey Fish boilies which Giles had sold me at 58 euros for 5kg. We enjoyed the holiday so much that we have already booked for next year. I hope this info will be helpful and don't be put off by the drive as this is a great place to go to.... well worth it!

Brendon Cocking Venue: Mas Bas Date of holiday: 12-08-2006 to 26-08-2006
No. of persons fishing: 1 Brief details of your catches: 35 fish. 36.08 biggest. Loads of good 20's (about 8 @ 29lb). Only 4 singles. Any doubles were good ones. What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Fistight to the lilies or the far margin. I was rowing the baits out. Only light baiting (12kg for the 2 weeks). 18mm boilies. No pellet or particle. I did start using Maize but I was catching too many big bream. I was netting my baits to avoid any problems with poisson chat or crays. Get the location right & you will catch.
Were the facilities what you expected? We stopped in Lake House - Great facilities Were you happy with them? Very happy
Would you recommend the venue to a friend? Totally
Would you recommend our services to a friend? Yes
General comments: This is our 4th year at Mas Bas. We came for one week the first year & have been back for 2 weeks every year since - we love it! Even though its a family holiday & I do not fish hard I always catch well - nothing too complicated, just find the fish & present your baits well & you will catch. Great fishing & great facilities... we totally recommend it!

Simon Kiwanuka Venue: Mas Bas Date of holiday: 05-08-2006 to 12-08-2006
No. of persons fishing: 2 Brief details of your catches: 26lb 8oz common carp on the second night & 17lb mirror caught on the last night of stay. 6 or 7 other big ones lost to snags & inferior tackle (15lb line and size 4 hooks not large enough). What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Fish at night on Lotus Lake - no bites during the day at all. Main Lake seemed to fish well during the day. Snowman baits work best as lakes are silty. Fishing margins & close to pads will give results.
Were the facilities what you expected? As expected. Were you happy with them? Views were amazing and tranquility superb.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend? Already have!

General comments: Giles & Lesley are great hosts, helpful & informative. The accommodation is basic but clean & comfortable. The fishing isn't easy but worthwhile. My PB was much improved (26lb 8oz common) and worth the sleepless nights. The surroundings will take your breath away.

General comments: Wonderful place and fishing was great. The 43.08 certainly put a smile on Lukes face, previous PB was 18lb. No one was on Lotus lake and we were offered to fish on there as it is generally easier due to less pressure. But we stayed in Lake House on the main lake and didn't want to leave the pool area. Fantastic holiday for all 6 of us though only one angler :-).

General comments: The house and location is great, The hosts giles and leslie are extremely helpful. The fishing is extremely difficult - we fished day and night for 6 days and caught 2 carp the day before we left. The weather was mixed thunder and showers with sunshine towards the end of the week. Giles is extremely helpful and tries to point you in the direction of the fish, he even fished with us for six hours one night but we still had no luck! its a beautiful location and lovely facilities just a shame the carp were not feeding!

General comments: I was very lucky when picking this venue as I live in Spain so it was an easier drive. The accomadation was spot on. My wife and daughter and dog arrived at 8.30 in the evening and was met by giles, who helped unload all my kit and then sent us to the local restaurant which he booked for us. What a nice start! (by the way I recommend this place to anyone) First thing Sunday morning saw me picking my swims. I opted for the small lake as this looked perfect, the main lake did have a problem with the weed and poor giles was at a loss as to how to get rid of it. He had treated the main lake with some very expensive chemical to knock it back and by the time I was leaving it seemed to be kicking in. Both giles and lesley and there little fellow were all very nice and helpfull and if you asked they would do what they could to help. This is by no means a runs venue but when you consider that there's a chance of a 40 - 50lb carp.... well, thats got to be why we do this sport aint it!!! You will mainly catch during the night so go out and see the sights during the day. The 25lb common was a pb for me and as for story of the one that got away,,,,,, two lost, and two hook pulls, and i know that one if not two were upper thirties maybe even the big uns! So to sum up this venue.... if you've got a family and you know how to fish I cant see any reason why you shouldn't catch. PS. can I just say that all the girls at Angling Lines are spot on, all my questions answered as honest as possible. Thanks very much to you all.
