Details of your catches:
We landed a total of 63 fish over 6 days. There was a mixture of beautiful mirror up to 54lb, common up to 33lb, hard fighting grass to 34.1lb and Koi up to 20lb. We had a number of double takes and even a triple mirror take, which was a real highlight for our group.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Some spots were more productive at dawn and dusk, and others during the day. We fished scopex snowman rigs with a yellow topper mainly. But we found red and pink combos worked well too. Up the far end of the lake, we found a lovely shallow area for daytime stalking with plenty of carp feeding. Although care had to be taken to avoid snags.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes, comfy beds, immaculately clean and a well equipped kitchen. The log burner was a nice touch too. 1 of the group rented rods/pod/bite alarms/nets. They were all top notch kit.
Were you happy with them?
Yes very much so

Details of your catches:
Amazing fishing, fished one rod only during the day, assisted by two friends and finished early on Friday when we got to 100 carp and my back had had it. A mix of mirrors, commons and grassies, best mirror 51.8lb (with several forties), best common 38.5lb and grassie 36.11lb. No sign at all of the small catfish. Used Gilles bait and guidance which where both top notch. Bites can so fast, sometimes I didn't even get the rod on the pod, no chance of leaving a rod out for say lunch or any form of break without somebody to take over. Total weight of fish 2970lb.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Used a bait boat to the far margin, generous hopper of bait every time, simple bottom rigs.
Were the facilities what you expected?
The house and proximity to the lake was great, six of us stayed, very clean and comfortable and worked well in every respect, nice kitchen, sociable area outside where friends an sit drinking wine whilst laughing at the poor fisherman struggling with yet another brute. Giles and Theo where very helpful and friendly, there if you needed them but left you alone if not.
Were you happy with them?
Yes very much so.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes but we are coming back anyway.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes, Angling Lines who we have used a lot over multiple venues are super friendly and professional.
General Comments:
Great venue for a mix of fishermen and none fishing friends.

Details of your catches:
We had a total of 72 fish over our stay and fishing a few hours each day. Breakdown of catches were: Grassy 7x doubles, 19 x twenties, 9x thirties. Mirrors 2 x doubles, 6 twenties, 15 x thirties, 1 x forty @ 49lb 12 oz. Commons 9 x doubles, 4 x twenties
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
We started by spread baiting far margin areas with boilie and crumb, as the week progressed and temperatures soared we dropped crumb as encouraged the poisson chat. 24mm boilies were whittled down in an hour so be prepared to use plastics or nuts. Margin areas and shaded areas should not be ignored. Do not believe you can overfeed the stock of this lake as baited after each take and sport continued.
Were the facilities what you expected?
The house is perfect for families and is located so close to the lake that you can fish and socialise safely. The pool is also fantastic and as the temperatures soared was used on a daily basis to cool off. The covered seating area and outdoor eating area is also superb and spacious to stay out of the direct heat of the sun. The photos really do not do the venue justice, it is set in the bottom of a tranquil and beautiful valley. At night you can only hear wildlife and deafening silence and is great for star gazing as no light pollution
Were you happy with them?
Absolutely loved the accommodation and Gilles and Theo were so welcoming and helpful with advice of the local areas and facilities.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
I would totally recommend this venue to a friend, just be advised it is a very long drive. We opted to fly the families down to Bergerac which was only 90 minutes from Stanstead. If driving I would also recommend a bit&go tag for the autoroutes.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
This is the 2nd time I've booked through Angling Lines and both have been simple and painless, with great communication and a massive range of venues to suit everyone.
General Comments:
