Were the facilities what you expected?

As expected - more than adequate.

Were you happy with them?

Advertised as a drive & survive. Large freezer, shower with hot water, fresh running drinking water….. what more do you want? Spot on.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Depending on what angling friends, as the venue suits the more serious, dedicated carp angler. 100% yes! To the ones that enjoy other aspects to fishing than just catching carp.

100% - My first experience travelling on my own and it’s been seamless process. My next trip will be through Angling Lines.

General Comments:

I have two reasons why I initially booked a week on Laroussi, first being it’s got a high stock of big beautiful carp and the second being they don’t give themselves up easily. I would say before anyone considers booking, do some research, Mehdi even explains in a video on YouTube that it is “not a runs water”. There are plenty of lakes we can go to and catch carp, one after the other, were they all look the same etc….. each to their own, but that’s not what I wanted from this trip.

I was given a warm welcome by Mehdi and met a group of decent geezers that were still on from the week previous. It was tough fishing, but with high air pressure and still not feeling quite like autumn, the carp were up in the water and even putting a display on most evenings, but wasn’t getting their heads down (understandable).

A blank was likely, however I caught a mid 20 stunning linear on day 2 and I was gifted on the morning of day 6 with, what has got to be the most stunning carp I have caught to date, a 37lb pristine linear. Goal compete, the reason I booked on Laroussi!

I wanted a challenge, I got a challenge, ended up with a result! People saying “I could have had this session in England” any one of them bites could be a 60+ not many lakes offer that in England and not many lakes offer this in France.

Need updating, need more showers and toilets with 7 people on lake we were often queuing to use the facilities

No, we as a group think it needs some TLC; we also think the stock has been exaggerated, and we were very disappointed
