Laroussi 2026 winter news, 16th Feb

2025 has been a great season with many good weeks and many PB's. Thank you very much to all, regular or new anglers!

Many 20lber, 30lber, 40lber, 50lber, 60lber up to 66lb were landed by many happy anglers. Big tench up to 11lb6oz, most of the grasses are between 50 and 68lb.

Many big fish were caught with our "Organic 12" fresh frozen boilies, we recommend our bait pack C, which is ideal for a week fishing at Laroussi (please check our baits section on Laroussi page).

The average growth recorded has been excellent, particularly for the young stock pond fish introduced in 2022,  and 2025 spring.

Indeed, some of the 2022 carp batch weighing 6.5lb each has already reached 43 and 45lb! (check photos) And those fish are beautiful scaley mirrors which is even better! We hope you will catch them during this new season over 50lb :)

Over the last 4 years, we had a strict selection to save only the prettiest scaley fish but also the best shape and growth. As every winter netting, we hand selected one by one each fish, and restocked only the very best. Work and efforts are paying off. Another example is showing the quality of those fish: in may 2025, our kids fished the stock pond and caught some 1lb carp then we moved them directly to Laroussi. In October 2025, some of them came out at 11lb (check photos).

Finally, while we are writing this news, Jordan, a local regular angler, has just landed a 17lb mirror, which was one of the kids batch of May, stocked at 2lb! (check photos). We saw several beautiful carp on the bank, between October and January.

The first part of this winter has not been very wet, and the water level was still a bit low.

Late December, temperatures went down to -10°C and early January, it was snowing. Lake froze for a few days. Since January, the weather is very rainy, and the water level has risen up a lot. Laroussi should reach  normal level by the end of February.

After a season, anglers were happy to use the refreshed facilities: constant hot shower, drinkable water, large fridge and freezer, many UK plugs, and picnic table.

2026 fishing is starting really well.

A handful of local anglers spent a couple of 48 hours break during the last couple of weeks, and met some success, catching some big fish. Pierre, Jérôme, and Jordan had the pleasure to catch some lovely fish: 37lb, 47lb common, 57lb, 42lb common, 56lb, 37lb, 53lb common, 35lb common, 36lb, 30lb, 32lb, 29lb, 20lb, 36lb, and about 20 smaller fish up to 20lb, which is great for short winter breaks. Right now, water temp is 7°C.

Two weeks ago, we netted the big stock pond and introduced 45 young and and beautiful mirrors and common to Laroussi. They will push the bigger fish to feed more by competition, and improve fishing. Laroussi hold now many scaley fish: linear, zip linear, classic, heavy plated, fully scaled and common, but also, a fair batch of big grasses and tench. We are personally scaley lovers.

We are happy to restart this new 2026 season with you, we look forward to meet you on Laroussi bank. If you need to order some baits (Organic 12 boilies, pellets, partiblend or a bait pack A,B,C) or a bait boat, please, email us.

As we live on site, we are always available to offer tips, help, or find a solution to any problem if needed.

See you soon on the bank !
