About the Lake
The 2.5 acre lake is mature with plenty of overhanging margins and variation of trees and shrubs - it's a real pleasure just spending time here!
It's long in shape with good access down the main bank. The large double swim is situated at the wider end and deepest water. Towards the narrower end of the lake you have a second single swim, where you will also find a simple wooden shelter. There are multiple stalking opportunities here, and the shelter can be used as an alternative to a bivvy if you wish.
The maximum depth is 3 metres with an average of around 1.5 metres, although it does become shallower as you get to the narrow end of the lake and you'll often find the carp sunbathing here early in the season. The bottom is mainly soft and in places silty due to the number of trees surrounding the lake.
There are no issues with poisson chat or bream and there is very little weed to contend with.
There are some crayfish and whilst these haven't caused issues for anglers, it is always best to go prepared just in case - you can find lots of information here for combatting crayfish in France.
An aerator is installed in front of the dam, ensuring good oxygenation in the hotter months.
