I didn't catch due to injury to my shoulder on the day after arrival. Alex caught a good selection of carp to 43lb, catfish to 65lb and bream too slimey to weigh but a good slab size and one 4-5lb pike.

As above, I did not fish.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Very good, with most of everything needed being supplied. Because of my difficulties in getting in and out of my bivvy due to the injury I was allowed to move my bed to the kitchen unit, which had heating installed as did the toilet/shower unit. Only two of us on the lake so there was never a problem of overuse etc. A really good venue.

Were you happy with them?

In everyway except the piped water colour looked to be pumped from the lake but plenty of drinking water was supplied by the owners.
*Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback. The piped water is pumped from the water table, then it is filtered at the level of the pump before being redistributed in the cabins for shower and toilet flushing. Depending on ground water conditions the water can have a colour tint to it but is filtered and safe for showering.

Yes! Highly recommended. A good venue with a cross section of fish. Easy to reach swims and good vehicle access. Facilities were good and the management of the site appeared to be thoughtful and supportive.

Said it all above. Apart from not being able to fish, seeing the success my son had, the variety of fish, the facilities and the site and swim access, the place was very good.

Best weeks fishing I've had

During our week we caught 39 carp ranging from 23lb to 44lb and 4 catfish 31lb, 38lb, 44lb and 51lb plus 4 large bream and a small pike (on a boilie)
So 1 fish over 50lb
8 x 40lb plus
22 x 30lb plus
12 x 20lb plus
This was definitely a true runs water!! For our first trip to France for any of us we couldn't have had a better week, thank you Beaurepaire.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

The lake was so active we found mainly little and often worked well, we also had a few just on a single hook bait when we couldn't be bothered to get the boat out after a catch in the middle of the night.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes, the facilities were good for a drive and survive, kitchen had 3 refrigerators for beers and food plus a large chest freezer for bait, there was a 2-ring electric hob and a microwave so all you need to stock up. The other container unit had a toilet and 2 electric showers.

Were you happy with them?

Yes.

100% especially if anyone is looking like us for a first trip to France for carp.

Yes. We will definitely be using Angling Lines again next year, we thought it was great value for money and any issues were resolved quickly and efficiently, communication was excellent and the staff were always helpful and friendly.

General Comments:

The staff at Angling Lines were brilliant and the lake owners were extremely friendly and helpful, we would recommend this venue to anyone, it was a shame we couldn't find a 50+ carp (they are in there up to 68lb) but we all came home with new PB's and a hat full of fish each so we all came home with smiles on our faces with plenty to discuss about our first week carp fishing abroad.
