Details of your catches:

Four of us fished, Pete’s fish, 8 Mirror carp to 39-12, 2 Common carp to 27-4 and 1 Grass carp of 28-15 plus a few bream Spatty, 3 Mirror carp to a PB of 42-08 and a kitten of 5lb Nick, 6 Mirror carp to 42-15 and 2 cats, 1 @ 3lb and a 45-11, Me, I had 3 Mirror carp to 37-6, 1 kitten of 5lb and 1 cat @ 68lb and a PB Grass carp of 46-05. Fishing was slow but we all caught with patience and trying different tactics

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

We tried everything we took with us, boilies, particles, pellets etc, cats came to pellets and couple of the carp too, trial and error was the order of the day. Lots of weed at this time of year which is understandable at this time of year after a hot summer, find the clear spots and you have a chance of a cracking fish.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities were as we expected as we have been to this lake many times and they are perfectly adequate for us anglers.

Were you happy with them?

Yes we were, as I said, we have come to the lake to fish, we have not come to a spa, that is down the road near Bernard’s house, in fact this years addition of a new shower etc is an added bonus.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes we would, we have now fished the lake 7 times in the last 9 years, and most of us have all done our PB’s on here, the owner and his family are really friendly and extremely helpful, you are left to fish the lake and not pestered every few hours by the owners like some other lakes our group have fished.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes we would, we have used Angling Lines 8 times out of the last 9 that I have been with the group and they make the whole process from booking to fishing a doddle, thank you.

General Comments:

Many thanks to Angling Lines and to Bernard and his family. Especially Sophie who brought us a bbq down to use when we asked and surprised us with a lovely bottle of champagne on our final night, another successful trip and we are booked again for next year, you can’t have too much of a good thing :-)

Particle mix out on spots, sonar bait boat. Spots can be found with marker

Fishing was hard for the week, high temperatures. Fish were caught off the spit finding clear areas. Most fish caught from single boilie top with corn or snowman over particle

Yeah everything you need for drive and survive... problem with shower but soon sorted out with Sophie only a phone call away

Would recommend keeping nets off floor as there is a few rats about

30 fish. 4 cats 1x20lb & 3 into the 40’s biggest 49.10lb. 26 carp smallest 22.3lb, biggest mirror 42.10lb Most in the 30’s 5 commons biggest 28.12lb 8 bream

All tactics seemed to work pop ups & bottoms. Pva bags worked very well

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes however shower was temperamental but adequate for a drive & survive. Some of the swims on the spit the trees need cutting back.

Were you happy with them?

Facilities were what we expected, plenty of fridge & freezer space

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes definitely. Brilliant week but only fish the cabin side. Ideally 4/5 anglers maximum.

General Comments:

Overall great venue hosts were lovely place was beautiful. Town very close & Reims only 30min drive if you want a break.
