A grand total of 54 fish between 5 anglers finishes a superb weeks fishing at Beaurepaire lake. With 2 x 50lb + carp 47lb grass carp 5 x 40lb + mirror carp topped up with numerous 30s and the odd 20 and a few cats. Excellent weeks fishing.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

We all used similar tactics from start to finish, baitboat with mixed particles and boilies dropped on any feature that the sonar picked up. Hook baits from manilla wafters, sweet corn to pop ups all seemed to work.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Although we had a fantastic week fishing at Beaurepaire and would definitely recommend it for a party of 4 or less who want to catch a few carp. The facilities were adequate but underwhelming. Fridge/freezer facilities were ok. Showers were not great. Toilet was fine but take your own paper.

Were you happy with them?

For a drive and survive package any facilities were welcome. We just thought if was given a bit of an upgrade they could be a great addition for the holiday.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Would definitely recommend to parties of 4 or less looking for a relatively easy water with carp to 60lb I’m told. Biggest we had was 53lb. Good location from Calais, local shop was great and close by. Had tabacco shop in village and a pizza take away.

Angling lines is a fantastic service. No issues once again. Spot on 10/10

Yes, this trip was our 4th visit to the lake since 2009 and the lake whilst sometimes difficult, both the stock continues to florish with the majority of fish now in excess of 30lb and the recent completed works to the lake also a significant improvement.

Bait little and often 18mm vortex 18mm cream seed Boilies - catches came when tipped with corn

Thanks to Sophie great host always on hand when needed brought plenty of water 👍 One thing take plenty of mozzie spay in summer months. Very hard week all my carp came on Thursday I moved swims to showing fish/ fish showed late night very early morning. PS, sorry for not showing cat pictures not received from other parties

Was very slow due to temps being average 35 degrees for the week. Tiger nuts and bottom baits and wafters for the carp, halibut pellets for the cats..

Yes fished here last year, now theres an extra shower and the kitchen area and washroom have been upgraded..

General Comments:

Sophie's a great host, always brings fresh water and very helpful with info of surrounding areas. Sophie - we didn't have time to ring you about the 114.11lb catfish as it was late and we left very early the next morning.... you can bring us the bottle of champagne next year when we visit xx ... regards Nick....
