General Comments:

I was luckily enough to fish Beaurepaire which has seen a lot of good anglers, the lake is very much divided into two halves, this lake had seen a lot of pressure and a lot of rigs so trying to catch something special for the camera was going to be hard work! I decided to take a different approach to this lake and fish singles as I had seen a few fish feeding on single grains of left over bollies in the margins.

After finding my spots I really had a good plan set in my head and it didn't take long to get my first take, the rod had only been in 20 minutes unfortunately that resulted in a hook pull, I was fishing a very simple rig which is a stiff hinge rig but really short and my bait option is always the famous mainline cell and hybrid I have 100% confidence in This bait and wouldn't leave home with out it!

After loosing the first fish it gave me a big push to get a fish in the bank! Nothing else happened that day I just got the chance to take in the beautiful lake, the next morning come and the fish were showing in groups on the opposite side of the lake, I casted to the showing fish and with in minutes it was off and was one of the big girls at 55lb 10oz. I also managed cut tail at 52lb 4oz and slipped up 2 mid 30s and a 43lb common what a result!

I would highly recommend Beaurepaire if you're looking for plenty of takes and big fish and comforts with facilities then this is your place!

General Comments:

Had a great week. A bit slow to begin with but picked up later in the week with the warmer weather.

Single hook baits, putting any bait in an area and the fish moved away

Pretty much as expected, would not have described the chest freezer as small

Facilities were fine for a small number anglers

2.5 hours from Calais, quiet, hosts were very friendly and helpful, but lack of fish on the bank.

Will need to make some more friends as have already recommended your service to all my current friends

General Comments:

The fish were active all the time I was there, with plenty of shows, so don't think the low water level is to blame for continued poor results & with water temp still around 13 deg. C would have expected more action.

22 fish in total, biggest carp was 56lb mirror and biggest catfish was 30lb

Would liked to of been notified about the poor water level at the lakes, 3 of us struggled fishing in 3/4ft of water with the large number of fish caught in the deep water of the lake 6/9ft
