General Comments:

This was our second visit to the lake having originally visited in 2009 and the fish have flourished during this time, the lake has changed with part of the margins having been dug out to increase the water depth, whilst this has improved the lake the island has been re-sculptured to be now joined up with the far bank and therefore create less of an area for the fish to migrate from one bay to the other, this has subsequently created 2 distinct bays (Opinion from our party was this has not improved the lake).

The weather all ways place a part in the fishing conditions perhaps more so in France than the U.K with the temperature variation being so extreme, however all of our party caught and we have booked again to return in 2017.

5 anglers fished we only had 9 fish out, 3 catfish to 49lb, 6 carp upto 36lb nearly all fish were caught at night

single boilies with a scattering of boillies, ccmoore live system proved best

General Comments:

we fished this place 2 years ago and had nearly 60 fish out more or less same tatics so we know how good this place is. Water was really low and very warm weather & the fish were very lethargic but that's fishin 4 u, still had a great time with great host.

Details of your catches:

We had 22 carp in total & 3 cats. Carp - one double, 3 twenties, 15 thirties, 2 forties and a 51lb’er!

On the Wednesday afternoon (between 1pm & 5pm) I had 3 x 37lb+, 2 x 40’s & the 50! Biggest cat was over 50lb & we lost 3 others... who knows how big they were as I couldn't do anything with them! Unbelievable fishing!

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Linda caught a lovely 30lb+ Grassie and a 20lb common on Sunday night but I’d only caught catfish up to Monday morning - the cats were loving the fishmeal boilies! Finally found the fish on Monday afternoon (RH bay behind small peninsula) & swapped to tinned Tigers over pre-prepared parti-blend and started catching carp at last. Wind pushed into far corner (facilities side, under the big willows) & the fish followed it. Fishing then became unbelievable - I stopped fishing Wednesday at 5pm & let Linda have my swim, frankly I was knackered!

The Wednesday afternoon catch (see above) goes down as the best 4 hours carp fishing I've had in my life - & I've been carping for 40 years! Hopefully the video will give you a feel for it!

The fish definitely move away from noise & pressure (I was catching just about as far away from where I was fishing as possible & I promise you I tried closer!) My tip would be to create as little disturbance as possible & unless you want to catch cats avoid the fishmeal boilies.

General Comments:

I was fishing with Linda Latham to shoot the new venue video & we had a great session. I predict this will become a real big carp water in the next few years because I caught so many healthy 35lb+ carp that will definitely grow on. A great venue!

Details of your catches:

Due to Temperatures 38 degrees plus excessive heat all week.
We had 10 in total. Catfish to 45lb and biggest carp was 36.08oz.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

3 were caught on zig rig. 3 on bottom baits 1 single 22mm. orange pop up with plastic sweetcorn got both the 36.08 and a 34.04

Yes. very happy will go again weather was freaky the hottest for 50 years. Nothing anyone could do about that
