Within four hours of reaching lake landed PB Catfish @ 49lb. Throughout the week netted 26lb cat, 32 & 28lb mirrors. Fishing was very slow but the weather was perfect for just relaxing.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

PVA bagged conventional bolt rigs, lead clips etc. Didn't take bait boat, might have been a mistake. Fished north bank near the willow tree into the prevailing south westerly breeze which limited the distance I could cast. My 2.75lb rods might have been a bit light for that venue.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes, but one toilet next to the shower and cooking facilities not best idea.

Were you happy with them?

Adequate for a drive and survive week

15 mirror carp - 44, 42, 39, 39, 38, 36, 35, 34, 32, 31, 30, 29, 25, 24, 22. 2 common carp - 17, 8. 4 cats - 47, 46, 32, 15

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

We all used cell boilies and best results were on small beds with accurate and regular baiting approach. There were long quiet periods during the day due to the heat and most action was during the evening or after dark. No need for complicated rigs.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes the facilities were exactly as shown on the website.

Were you happy with them?

Yes the facilities were more than adequate with fridge and freezer space, local supermarket only 10 minutes away.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Would definitely recommend to a friend and have already done so. If you are travelling to france for the first time then this is an easy water to start with.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Would recommend using angling lines as it was an easy hassle free way of getting on the bank.

General Comments:

Bernard and his daughter were very polite and helpful, Bernards english is not the best but it is easy to understand what he means. Beautiful quiet scenery and we had no problems with the mozzies.

Fishing very slow,possibly a combination of the heat and being on a pretty featureless area of lake. Carp to 41lb, and a 36lb cat.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Tried several tactics, nothing stood out as best. Echo sounding with boat revealed a pretty flat bottom, apart from deeper hole right in front of me. Lots of false line bites from hyper active cats!

Were the facilities what you expected?

Better. Shower still leaks onto floor,but hardly a problem. Fridges and freezer a bonus, and lashings of hot water.

Were you happy with them?

More than happy.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Very doubtful. Its pretty obvious that the spit is prime,and holds the majority of the fish. Away from that its a bit of a featureless wilderness.

Yes. Smooth process and plenty of info.

General Comments:

The draw for swims seems to have been abandoned by the owner! Arrived at 11.15, to find everyone else on lake and set up! The cats are a menace,constantly charging around and thru lines..very trying at times.

This was a last min break for me,and the weather was great; but its not a water for serious carp fishing IMHO.

We had 35 fish between us inc a pb mirror for steve at 31-10 a pb grassy for me at 34-04 and a pb cat and lake record for me with the reuben heatons thumping down to the stop at 67-12.Other mirrors to 40-09 and further cats to 48-10

yes definitely, the venue is suitable for any level of skill. Good easy fishing with the probability of a pb.

yes, definitely. you remove all the hassle of organisation and are more than ready to help if and when necessary

General Comments:

A great weeks fishing with a nice bonus of a bottle of champagne from the owner for the capture of the big cat. Larger scales are definitely the order of the day at this venue now. standard 60lb reuben heatons are obviously no longer adequate.
