Blue Lake Fish
The complexity of the lake bottom and the variation in depth make it impossible to net and the nearby lakes on the same water table mean it cannot be drained. So we can't give an exact count on the numbers.
However, what we can be sure of is the carp that have been added over the years. 2011 saw 272 carp stocked from the Vasseur family's own fish farm. An additional stocking of 200 carp were then added in November 2024, following some fish deaths in early 2024. Another 100 hand-picked carp were added in early January 2025.
We now estimate the stock in Blue Lake to sit around 550-600 carp. There's a large head of 30's and a good number in the 40's and 50's, with a few 60's too.
You will also find some grass carp, a large catfish and just a few sturgeon.
