Details of your catches:

I think we had 15 fish between us with the biggest going just over of 40lb and we lost just as many, they know where the snags are, and they know how to use them. The fish were all units looking bigger than they are and they fight hard.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

We fished pegs 3 and 4 and found a snowman rig in the margins over enough bait for a bite at a time worked best, you need bait armour as the crayfish with destroy your hook baits without it.

Were the facilities what you expected?

They’re basic but they kept clean. If you leave the toilet door open when in use it’s makes it easier as it is small and the shower was perfectly fine, maybe a seat / bench in the shower room would be handy.

Were you happy with them?

They were kept clean and the hot water was warm, that’s enough for me. For a larger person I could see them being a little small but at the end of the day it’s a fishing lake not the Ritz

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Most definitely. It’s a stunning venue with some incredible fish to be had. There’s a local town 10 minutes away with all the supplies you’d need for week, what more could you we ask for.

Angling lines were brilliant, I’ll be using them again

General Comments:

We got lucky as we didn’t see a rat all week but the other guys weren’t as lucky sadly, maybe that was down to swim management or just being on the wrong side of the lake, if they can resolve that issue then it’s a seriously good venue. I can’t lie I thought it was a stunning venue with something for everyone from snag fishing to open water fishing, I’d have no hesitation in going back.

General Comments:

it's a lovely lake, with great features to fish and everything you need. The local town is close with a large supermarket so you can easily get what you need. We had a great weeks fishing, its a shame we lost a few fish as there are snags but thats fishing, always next time
