Blue Lake

Blue Lake Rules

Security Deposit: On arrival you will be asked to provide a £50 or 50€ security deposit per group. This will be returned at the end of the week providing everything is left in good condition.

Arrival at the venue – 11am, not before please. On non-exclusive weeks, a swim draw will take place at 11:30am.

Departure from the venue – no later than 10am.

Protecting the fish

  • Maximum three rods per angler
  • Rods must not be left unattended when lines are in the water
  • No sacking or retaining of fish allowed
  • Anglers must bring carp cots, weigh slings and landing nets. These must be of sufficient size and quality to ensure large carp can be handled safely. Please never stand when holding the fish.
  • A suitable antiseptic treatment (such as Klin-Ik) must be used at all times
  • Minimum 15lb mono mainline, no bent hook rigs or braided mainline, micro-barb or barbless hooks only, maximum size 4’s
  • Particles - anglers can bring their own if it's branded prepared. Maize can be purchased at the lake, anglers just need to let Sebastien know on arrival.
  • Leadcore leaders are not allowed, but you can use safe abrasion resistant leaders (like the Korda safezone leaders) combined with drop off leads. In all instances, the lead must drop off safely should there be a break off

Use of the facilities

  • Unless your party has booked the lake exclusively, please do not set up or occupy swims until authorised to do so by Sebastien or one of his team
  • Please remove muddy boots before entering the facilities. We advise taking flip flops/ crocs to wear in the shower as the stainless steel floor can be cold.
  •  Please leave the facilities in a clean and tidy condition, using the blade provided to clear shower floor as you exit
  • No smoking inside the facilities
  • Please do not put anything other than toilet paper down the toilets – our facility uses a septic tank and any other object will block the pipes and you will be held responsible for the cost of the unblocking
  • Please note that the shower works off an immersion heater, therefore you may need to wait a short while for enough hot water if another person has used the shower beforehand
  • Please let us know immediately of any missing items, breakdowns or defects, so that we can rectify the problem rapidly
  • Please respect the tranquility of the neighbourhood by keeping noise to acceptable levels

General

  • You can hire one of two rowing boats on site and you are also welcome to bring your own, either way you must wear a life jacket at all times when using them
  • Bait boats allowed
  • No lakeside fires please, other than camping stoves or BBQ's with legs.
  • Please use the bins provided for litter. In particular anglers should check their pegs for cigarette butts, bottle tops, waste end tackle and line at the end of the week. Each peg should be left clean for the next anglers. Failure to do so may result in a ban from our lakes in the future
  • No swimming in the lake
  • The management reserve the right to inspect fishing tackle and other equipment
  • Dogs are allowed by prior arrangement only
  • Anyone under 16 must be supervised by an adult at all times when fishing
  • If you or a member of your party experiences any issues during your holiday, please report them immediately to the venue owner/bailiff and to Angling Lines. This allows us the opportunity to resolve the matter while you are still at the lake, in line with our holiday Terms & Conditions.

IMPORTANT NOTE ON SAFETY

FIRE HAZARD – Please ensure that equipment involving any naked flame or spark is properly extinguished and stored safely when not in use. Ensure that cigarette ends are fully extinguished and disposed of in a responsible way.
