Details of your catches:

We fished over pegs 6, 7, 8 and 11. Peg 11 was the least productive producing just the one mirror at 25lb 4oz. Peg 7 produced 4 carp to 39lb. Peg 6 produced 6 to 36lb. The peg of the week went to peg 8 producing 9 carp from 22lb upto the biggest of 51lb 7oz (fished by one angler).

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

It seemed the best tactics for the week were simple bottom bait rigs fished in open water with a couple of handfuls of free boilies and some hemp and tiger's around each hookbait. Mainline cell and sticky manilla seemed to be the most productive baits across the week.

Were the facilities what you expected?

This is very much a drive and survive venue. The facilities are very clean and tidy. However we wasnt made aware of the electrics only being available Tuesday to Friday.

*Angling Lines note* Apologies, we did state on the website that the electricity is only supplied at set times but did not specify days, we have now done so.

Were you happy with them?

Whilst you can get by with the facilities available to you. I personally would advise taking your own power facilities be it long lasting power banks or even a small generator to ensure you can keep bait boats/phones etc charged. And be prepared to walk the mile or so it is from these swims to the cabin were the facilities are. But overall these facilities are adequate enough when you take in the whole experience of the lake and its fishing.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

I would definitely recommend this venue to a friend because the overall experience was great and the fish in this lake are outstanding.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

I would without a doubt recommend angling lines to everyone. We had some last minute problems with the original lake we was going to and angling lines were absolutely superb from start to finish in ensuring that we was kept up to date and once a decision to change was made, angling lines made the transition as stress free as it could possibly be. Linda, Heather and Bridget were all superb at all points of contact and never left me in the dark. Was a pleasure to book through angling lines and will be using your services again.

General Comments:

Overall, as a group we had a fantastic week even though some didnt catch as many as others. Although in truth this was probably more down to conditions than angling ability.

The fish in this lake are immaculate. My only advice when booking this venue would be;

1. A club hammer or electric drill as pegging a bivvy on the swims is extremely difficult.
2. Take your own power as it can be frustrating not being able to keep things charged.
3. Peg 8 is most certainly not a double swim so bare this in mind when booking.
4. Take a camping loo with you as its a long way from the facilities especially in the night.

Thanks again to angling lines for everything you done to ensure our trip went ahead and thank you for your first class service and ease of booking with you from start to finish.

Details of your catches:

30 carp to 49lb including 10 x 40lb+ fish

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

I found not wading was beneficial as not to spook fish, any good boilie works, we used madbaits aswell as hemp and tiger nuts, keep lines pinned and dont spod during peak feeding times
