Details of your catches:

Only one fish before we packed up and left after two days in this hell hole!

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

According to Mat (Bailiff) you won’t catch without using his particles or baitboats. He’s only there to make money off you!

*Angling Lines note* Whilst we're obviously extremely disappointed with this feedback and have spoken to you directly regarding it, we must fully disagree with this comment because it goes against years of angler's feedback regarding the bailiffs of this lake. We have spoken to the bailiff and he assures us that what was explained to you is what had been working on the lake - large beds of bait and far range fishing with a baitboat.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Average.

Were you happy with them?

That was the only thing we were happy with!

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

No! The place is a rip off! Having booked pegs 9 & 10 on Brocard large we arrived to a not so friendly bailiff telling us we can’t fish on those pegs as there’s no water and only on the smaller with only 2’ of water!
I wouldn’t return here if it was free! Not in 20 years of fishing in France have a had such a bad experience that we all packed up and left after two days!

*Angling Lines note* We are told that Franck suggested that you fish Brocard Small because it was fishing better and the water levels were better than your original swims. However, as we mentioned at the time, Franck is French and we appreciate that something may have been lost in translation. We assure you that, having spoken to him, he was only trying to be helpful.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

The staff at Angling lines are very helpful and they try to fix any problems especially Bridget. Shame the lakes are not as good

General Comments:

The place needs to be closed until the lakes have water in them and some new helpful bailiffs would be a great help.
One piece of advice…book a different lake!!

Details of your catches:

12 fish in the week and lost/missed another 4 or so. Half of these were grass cap and all other anglers found the same. Hard fishing, all the fish were at the other end of the lake consistently, and only caught at night

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Tigers. Too many small catfish to use anything else.

Were the facilities what you expected?

They are ok. Power isn’t available 24/7 all days and after dropping batteries off to charge, found they weren’t on the next morning. Disappointing.

Were you happy with them?

Shower is fine, power could be better.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Please note this lake is extremely shallow and very silty. I walked all the way across and it never got to waist high. A bait boat is absolutely essential here as the fish will not come close. Wish I’d known a few more details before I arrived rather than waste time at tackle shops and sourcing boats during the trip.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes

General Comments:

1) Bring a boat
2) You NEED tiger nuts
3) It’s VERY shallow and silty
4) Pegs are good but hard
5) Frank and Mark literally made the trip for me. Constantly going above and beyond to help- they are a complete asset to the place.
6) Bring insect repellent- it’s unbearable. Loads of wasps and ants too!
7) There are a family of rats and beaver things that live under peg 9 and will keep you awake splashing all night!
8) There are animals everywhere. A wild boar was wandering round my peg one night, plus snakes, spiders, rats, beavers (they aren’t but they look like them), kingfishers, herons and many other things!

Details of your catches:

65 carp to 38lb
7 grass carp to 54lb
72 fish in total between 7 anglers

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Small pop ups or wafters fished over small amounts of bait or in solid bags

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities were fine, they were clean and had plenty of power points.

Were you happy with them?

Yes

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

I would recommend. The lake and the surroundings are beautiful. Would definitely recommend a lake exclusive booking and no more than 6-7 anglers as this gives anglers the opportunity to move if fishing is slow and keeps the fish moving around the lake.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes angling lines were very helpful throughout. Very professional and nothing is too much hassle for them.

General Comments:

Brocard Large is a great venue however with over 60 carp caught we did not see 1 carp over 40lb from the large lake and all carp apart from 11 were under 30lb. Whether this was due to the carp spawning or there is not that many carp over the 40lb mark who knows!!! Nevertheless a good relaxing week with steady action considering the weather conditions and spawning fish.

General Comments:

A venue we have been to many times and will continue to do so, as the fishing is great, the bailiff Franck is brilliant. If Carlsberg did bailiffs, Franck is so genuine and will do everything in his power to make your stay enjoyable, i have never seen a man work so hard, he is super human lol
