About the Lake

The 3 acre lake is a former gravel pit with a very natural feel and plenty of features along its tree lined margins. You'll find varying depths from 1.5-2.5 m and a small island. The bottom is mainly gravel with some silt patches.

The lake has no poisson chat, there are very few crayfish and whilst there is some weed present, it is generally minimal. We wouldn't describe this as a 'snaggy' lake, but there are a few snags present which provide good features to fish towards. As mussels are present in some areas, we recommend using a strong, abrasion resistant snag leader.

Three double swims are spread nicely around the lake, all have some steps down to reach them, so perhaps not suitable for less mobile anglers.

The lake is fully enclosed and gated. You have vehicle access to all swims to unload. Friendly sheep graze the banks around the lake keeping everything neat and tidy.

Rowing Boat
There is a rowing boat provided on site for your use, with lifejackets, which must be worn at all times.

Bait Boat Hire
You can hire a bait boat here for 70e for the week. A refundable deposit of 70e is also required, returned at the end of the week providing no damage. You can arrange this directly with the lake once your booking is confirmed (their contact details are supplied within your info pack).
