About the Lake
The lake measures around 2.4 acres and is designed for three anglers. The main swim is situated just 40 metres in front of the accommodation, a stroll across the lawn and a small wooden bridge. This swim also has its own power supply (EU sockets - please bring adaptors). It is also possible to fish from elsewhere on the bank.
Depths reach around 2.1 metres, with the shallow sandy margin on the right-hand side a known patrol route for the carp. The far margin can also be productive, although the reeds can make it trickier to fish. The left hand side is the deepest area, typically between 1.8-2 metres, where fish are often seen visiting a sandbar. A reed-lined margin around 5-10 metres from the bank adds another feature to consider when planning your approach.
There is some weed present and you'll find some tree roots here and there. A bait boat is recommended, particularly when fishing towards the reeds.
As with many French lakes, crayfish are present, more so in the hotter months. It’s best to be prepared just in case, and we recommend you take shrink wrap for your hookbaits or use plastic baits - you can find lots of information here for combatting crayfish in France. With these simple measures in place, they should cause you no problem. There are no poisson chat in the lake.
