Details of your catches:
A total of 25 immaculate and unique carp, with 6 x 30lb+ and one of the lakes special residents at 43lb 4oz.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
We fished an inline set up, but simple rigs using krill wafters. The fisheries own tuna and inferno boilies also did the business as well as their particle mix.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Excellent and all the necessities provided, fridge, great shower, toilet and electric charging points.
Were you happy with them?
Yes
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

General Comments:
Amazing food, stunning fish and super helpful advice which Gaz was always happy to provide. They have created something truly special and we'll be back next year.

Details of your catches:
We fished off the landing stage, split the lake between us.
Very slow week, were told on arrival that the previous week anglers had put a lot of bait in so we started off with small amounts of bait round each rod but made little difference. Started putting in more bait for the 2nd half of the week and had better responses and more movement but still a slow week.
Had a rod ready to cast to showing fish but they were few and far between.
Catch: 10 fish.
Mirrors x 5: 19,8 / 21 / 22 / 34,4 / Beautiful 40,12 (pb) Commons x 4: 18.10 / 17.10 x 2 / 23.12 Kitten x 1: 2lb
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Fishing to the margins and island sides using the baitboat.
Bought the rods in at night as the mosquitos were a bit too much to take (also facing a few hornets isn't nice)but the two nights we left the rods out till 11pm we had action, and yes I got a few mosssi bites.
Caught on DNA bug, Munchbaits Bio Marine, Monster crab, Nash squid, Sweetcorn.
I wouldn't hold back on the bait next time.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Facilities were sound, if using the bedrooms then maybe 3 max would be comfortable.
We used the cabin to sleep and eat breakfast in and had the shelters up outside for the days fishing.
We had the breakfast package, 9am every morning, lovely and hot and beautifully cooked, highly recommended.
Were you happy with them?
Yes, maybe have some fake grass outside the cabin as It rained quite heavy for a couple of days and the ground round the cabin got quite muddy.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes.

Always have done.
General Comments:
I would suggest that Angling Lines updates the information about the lake. It states the depths go from 3ft (1mtr) to 10ft (3mtr) but I couldn't find anything deeper than 5ft (1.5mtr) with my sonar, and this was confirmed by Gary when I asked about it.
The bottom is soft-medium clay and casting out was plugging the leads so we used boats for all the rods.
I understand the need to stop cross contamination and having to use the fishery cradles and weigh slings, if that's the rule then fine, but in all honesty we were quite disappointed in the condition of these items. They were very well worn and we actually went round the lake to find the best two we could. The nets felt very coarse and the cradles fabric was falling apart. Maybe having a dip tank for anglers that have this equipment would be easier and cheaper, making sure all items are dipped on arrival wouldn't necessitate for having to keep buying new nets and cradles for every peg.
*Angling Lines comment* We have discussed this with the lake owner and he does not want to change the depths as stated on the website. This is because he believes the readings you were getting are a reflection of the time of year i.e. the lake naturally drops a little in the height of summer if the weather has been hot. Thank you for passing on your concerns regarding the equipment, we have discussed this with the lake owner. He accepts that, as the season draws to a close, some of the items have become worn. He will assess the damage and look to replace items as required.

Details of your catches:
Had over 40 fish between the 3 anglers, with 3 of the known fish over 40lb included. Weather extremely hot, but despite the temperatures we caught on all days.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Best tactics were to watch the lake, see where the fish were active and to loose feed boilie around match the hatch hookbait.
Were the facilities what you expected?
This was a return visit which says all you need to know about how much we like it!
Were you happy with them?
Yes, the accommodation is exactly as described. Its a simple, small cabin but it has all that we needed.
