Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities are very good as the outdoor kitchen and seating area is accessible from pegs 1, 2 & 3. Unfortunately the cleanliness of the facilities was a major let down.

I would not recommend this venue to a friend. The front of the swim 3 is dangerous and is in need of repair, there are too many pest fish in the lake and we caught an unacceptable number of bream and tench. The lake needs to be netted in our opinion. *Angling Lines comment* Thank you for your feedback. We have discussed with the owner, he is aware of the deterioration due to flooding earlier this year and repair will be done in the closed season.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

I would recommend Angling Lines but i would expect them to address our concerns regarding the Golden Carp Lake.

General Comments:

On the day before leaving the owner drew our attention to a cleaning checklist where we were expected to the clean the kitchen and toilets fully. The issue with this is we were not provided with any cleaning materials and we tidied the area as best we could. On the day of the departure the owner treated us like children and told us that the kitchen was not clean enough. In hindsight, it seems that the owner expects each guest party to bring the facilities up to standard in readiness for the next visitors. This is unachievable due to the lack of cleaning products available. Surely the owner should bring the facilities up to standard before the next guests arrive.

Lovely place and super social for a group of friends

A very hard week due to catching the tail end a storm only managed 2 Carp between 6 of us a 47lb9oz mirror and a 39lb11oz common 1 bream and a small pike

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Tried all baits and combination ls but the mirror fell to a cut down 12mm pop up over a bed of he.p and maize house pellet and scopex squid the common was caught on a 10mm mainline quad over cell and essential cell hemp maize and house pellet.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Great facilities the communal area with TV and dart board was a life saver in the rough weather we had, especially Steve the carp

Barry and Jane were very nice hosts and any problems were sorted out straight away
