Details of your catches:

Over 20 fish to 46lb in 72hrs

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

SIMPLE RIGS AND BAITING!
You do not need a complicated rig or baiting approach on J7. Simple D rigs in the middle of winter yielded over 20 fish in 3 days.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yep. Fridge, freezer, toilet and hot shower is all I need!

Were you happy with them?

Yes

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Definitely. Mark Slade is an awesome host with a great profile of lakes.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Absolutely. Quick and easy to book as always and needing to change my ferry back a day early was done without hassle.

General Comments:

J7 is a fantastic winter venue where you won’t be far from a big haul if you approach it in a simple manner.

Details of your catches:

22 fish in total. Commons, mirrors and a grass carp ranging from 18lb to 45lb.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Snowman rigs fished over boilie and particle, the majority of fish came from the far margin.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities have been upgraded since our last visit and they were good before. Nice shower and kitchen area. Plenty of freezer and fridge space if you need it. Each swim has their own section for charging electrical items. There’s also a cooker in the kitchen if needed.

Were you happy with them?

Yes definitely, there’s everthing anyone would require for a weeks fishing.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes definitely.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes definitely. Have booked through angling lines on numerous occasions and their service is faultless. Always email me with any changes to crossings etc.

General Comments:

Have fished Jonchery main lake and 8 in the past, Mark and Anita are fantastic hosts and I can’t recommend the venue highly enough. Although we didn’t have the food package this time we have in the past and it was brilliant. Marks on hand to help and offer advice if you need it and obviously knows the lake really well.
The start of the week was very cold and I didn’t catch until Wednesday night when the temperatures rose and the low pressure and rain arrived. My dad caught a few at the start of the week from the middle of the lake on fishing single hookbaits. All fish were caught at night. This lake is usually very prolific as I’ve witnessed in previous years but that’s fishing, we’re booked on there again for next October.

Details of your catches:

115 carp between us.
15 singles
19 doubles
50 twenties
21 thirties
10 forties biggest 47.15 (6 PBs for my fishing buddy Graham Duff aka Mr Bean)

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Under or on the edge of the far tree line canopy and right/left of the monk. Stalking at the top end produced a few as well.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes, big shared freezer, own fridge space and charging space. 1 shower and separate toilet but never an issue and both clean. Sink/cooker/microwave if required.

Were you happy with them?

Yes, cannot fault them

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes

General Comments:

Fishing was hectic at times to say the least and we were down to 2 rods each from Wednesday and even had to reel all rods in at times so we could cook/eat and get some sleep. All fish taken on either Marks owns plum boilies or Poacher Baits Tiger Nut/Maple on simple blow back or hair rigs but all fished alongside Marks parti mix and we used a lot of it. Listen to Mark and you wont go wrong, hes a proper nice guy with some funny stories to tell and his better half, Anita, is very nice and does a decent breakfast baguette.
If we had fished it hard and were not so old and knackered, Im pretty sure we could have racked up a lot more fish. Special mention to Yvonne and her special skills as well.
