News from Jonchery lake

Last Anglers Before Lockdown, 13th Apr
Fred and Christophe fish peg 2 last week and landed 51 carp. Biggest 64lb. The average size over the 51 fish was a excellent 22kg / 48.4lb. Well done gents on a very challenging week of changeable weather.

The Fish Return, 24th Dec
After a full drain down we have now sorted and returned the carp. All of the very small carp have been removed and we have placed 360 carp back into the lake. The lake average is now 40lb and biggest is 70lb+. We also included 10 big grass carp to 80lb.

Annual Draining and Netting, 15th Dec
Last week saw the annual netting of Jonchery to remove any nuisance fish and keep the balance correct. Carp are all in excellent condition with a big average size. They are held in holding ponds whilst the lake refills and they will be returned in a couple of days. Most of the holes you see in the last two photos are between 20 to 50cm deep and solid clay in the bottom. Gravel is around most margins.

14th March Week on Jonchery, 14th Mar
Anglers out at Jonchery earlier this month had an incredible week with 50 carp on the bank, including a 64lb common, 4x50's and 18x40's. A nice week's fishing in mainly sunny conditions.
