2 anglers
Details of your catches:
We caught 44 fish between 2 anglers in swim 4 - mostly mid-30 to low 40 lbs. Some beautiful commons too.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
We were in swim 4.
We bait a few gravel patches in the margins opposite swim 4 and close to buoys in the middle. Mostly particles and pallets, some boilies.
We fished mostly ronnies, d-rigs with wafter and snowmans. No bottom baits.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Basic but clean. Good sized freezers to keep the bait.
Were you happy with them?
Yes.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes - its a great lake with some very nice fish. It was our first trip to France and we feel this was a great place to start (and come back to).
Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
We fished mainly daytime waking up early and putting on our spots at first light and bringing in between 9-10pm, resting swim overnight, getting some sleep ready for morning which was very productive getting bites usually as we where putting out 2nd, 3rd rods.
We fished at distance to the rope using a baitboat and stuck to same spots putting in 2-3kg of bait each time. A baitboat is needed to reach the central line unless you hire a rowboat.
We used particles from Barrs Angling along with maize we went through 180kg of partimix and 30kg of maize already prepared in 5 kg buckets which the fish seemed to like and offered the best value for money as you can only use branded particles on this venue.
We also mixed in 6mm and 8mm pellets used 50kg and we used 20kg of live system 15mm boilies and 5kg scopex squid 18mm boilies.
I fished this lake last July so had an idea of what bait was required as the fish are already big , getting bigger and once they come onto your spot you need to keep feeding them.
Were the facilities what you expected?
The toilet / shower block has been replaced from the one I used last year.
I saw them building it last year and it’s a massive improvement on what was already a better toilet / shower block than at most of the french lakes I’ve fished.
Were you happy with them?
Very happy with the facilities, 2 large fridges and huge chest freezer along with several sockets for recharging, just remember to take euro socket adaptor and 4 gang extension
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
I recommend Lac de Lepinets to everyone I speak to regarding France and carp fishing.
This is a lake that you can fish no matter what experience you have carp fishing and still hopefully catch well as we did. Gaz has never been carp fishing before and Shaun has only carp fished the last 3-4 years in uk and here he had manage to cope more by himself and did well catching 27 carp
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
I always promote Angling lines and the lakes that I’ve fished on their books. They put together the best carp fishing package holidays and are on hand if you have any problems.
General Comments:
Big thanks to Bridget and Linda as on our way home my van decided to break down. Luckily having contact numbers I had a french interpreter in Bridget which was a huge help with rescue vehicle and garage.
Then Linda sorted out all the changes to ferry crossing making sure we all got home o.k
Again big thanks from all of us
