We all had PB`s. One 50lb fish came out twice to different anglers. Two massive catfish at 50lb and 54lb plus 31lb and several smaller ones around 5lb each. In all we had 35 fish between us. Lots of 20`s, several 30`s and a couple of 40`s. Mixture of commons and mirrors and grass carp. Oh and a couple of big eels.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Bait boat to the island and the margins under tree cover. Small pop up bolies and wafters, mixed with particle and pellets.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities as described, perfectly adequate, plenty of hot water for a shower, well equipped kitchen, no complaints.

General Comments:

Richard the bailiff was very helpful and gave us a lot of useful tips. We would have struggled without his help. Very nice lake, out in the French countryside, very peaceful most of the time except for the noisy frogs and toads. Our trip coincided with the fish spawning on the Wednesday night through to Friday, so things slowed down a bit then. We would have done better had it not been for that happening. Brilliant first trip to France fishing, all had PB`s will probably go again next year.

General Comments:

Our 4th time here and already looking to book for next year. A fairly hard weeks fishing with gale force winds, heavy rain and even hail at times. Some low temperatures but we still managed to bank 27 carp. Lots of mid to high 20’s and some mid to high 30’s as well.
Richard is always on hand for help and advise, couldn’t ask for a better owner/bailiff, top bloke!

3x 40’s (44, 41, 40), 10x 30’s, 17x 20’s (12 over 25lb), 1x 50lb cat.

We fished from the cabin bank at range to the far margins. Small amounts of bait with either a small pop up or slow sinking maize over the top.
