General Comments:

Fishing was very tough for the first five days, only lost 4 fish. After Richard gave me some tips and allowed me to use his hemp and corn, I ended up with 11 carp in the last 2 days of my stay. Richard has been very helpful and welcoming throughout our stay, top guy Thanks!!

Details of your catches:

We caught 11 carp fish in our last 24 hours there, having caught nothing the 5 days before that. The heaviest weighed 40 and 50 pounds.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Sweetcorn seemed to work well at the end. The bait boat was good too.

Were the facilities what you expected?

No, there were mice or rat droppings in the kitchen cupboards and even the beds.

Were you happy with them?

The cabin was extremely disappointing. I had to bleach the cutlery pans, plates etc before I could use it, because the mice droppings were everywhere. The place could do with a washing machine and a dryer at least. More should be done to keep the place clean and mice free. I had to keep my belongings in the car all week because I was afraid of the mice getting In my stuff.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

I won’t be going back but I think my boyfriend will definitely go back as he hardly used the cabin apart from just when he had showers.

The service was great. Richard was a great help and tried his best to accommodate us.

General Comments:

Overall we managed to finish the week nicely, seeing as my partner managed to catch quite a few fish. Richard was very helpful. The place is beautiful but just a bit too cold for November. It was my first time experiencing fishing for more than 8 hours so maybe thats why I struggled a lot.

*Angling Lines note* We are sorry you had an issue with mice on this occasion. Unfortunately because of the remote location mice do appear from time to time, the bailiff actively traps for these and the cabin is cleaned before each week begins.

19 fish. 2x 50's to 52.8, 3x 40's to 46, 7x 30's to 38.3, 7x 20's to 29.8.

Persevere and feed spots little and often through week. We also fed a central area and left alone until mid week then picked of fish regularly at the end of the week. All baitworks boilie produced fish.

General Comments:

Hard start to the week with temperature drop and cold rain. Perseverance and taking advice from the bailiff (Richard) paid off. Richard is a top bloke, do not ignore his tips/suggestions.

32 fish to 52lb. 2x 50lb+, 3x 40lb+, 10x 30lb+, 15x 20lb+, 2x double. All fish in excellent condition. Hard fighting, credit to Richard.

Great holiday had by all, would come back again. Richard was a great bailiff, very easy going.
