We had 35 fish between us. Ranging from 10lbs to 48.5lbs. Great weeks fishing everyone had a 30+lbs fish.

Medhi was an excellent host and the fishing was excellent and the fish were all great condition and beautiful.

I fished swim 5 and had 20 fish, great sport, biggest 38lb, 2x 31lb and a 28lb, the rest around 15-20 lb, great host such a brilliant guy, would definitely return in future, cabin lovely, everything you need for a fishing holiday, 5 star keep it up mate 👍

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Possion chat and nuisance fish destroyed particle and pellet. If I was to go again I’d use 24mm+ sweet boilies. Possion chat left the sweetcorn till last so maybe that too

Were the facilities what you expected?

Average facilities. No microwave or air fryer. One fridge which was quickly filled. Could do with another one. Toilet roll not provided which I thought was bizarre so had to go back out again to get some.

It was never specified that fish had to be photographed in the water so only myself had a floating cradle. Not very easy getting in the water with the state of the pegs and low water level

The whole venue is very tired. The pegs were solid stone and gravel and nightmare to bivvy up on, they were not level and could do with a lot of TLC. Expected better for the high price of the trip.

Yes they were okay

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

No. It was billed as a big fish water stating the average size is 40+. This is definitely not true. Half of our fish caught were under 10lb

Yes. Angling lines were very helpful with a lot of changes to the trip. Made my trip less stressful with all the booking. Thank you for your support with the trip.

General Comments:

Enjoyed the week but I’m not in a rush to return. Possion chat were very active as seen on our under water camera. Facilities and pegs should be better for the price paid for the trip. Too many small carp in there and it’s not the big fish water it’s advertised as. Mehdi was a nice guy and welcomed us, no personal issues with him.

*Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it. We've spoken to Mehdi to discuss the points raised, he also mentioned he is now thinning out the smaller fish, removing them between now and winter. He confirmed that these smaller carp are the result of natural breeding in the lake. We are sorry that the rule change wasn’t communicated prior to your trip, we have now updated the rules page.

Between us we caught around 30plus fish up to 16lb
A few 30lb + fish up to 38lb
40lb grassie, 42lb common and 42lb mirror and a 45lb mirror for carl which was a pb.
47lb mirror, 48lb mirror, 52lb mirror pb for my son
A new pb for myself 62lb mirror biggest mirror in old oaks and another pb for carl the long common which was 73lb.
Both big catches peg5 peg 2 same day within an hour apart.
