Just the one, It was a great time just a shame it was so hot and the water pressure was high and water levels were low.

We did find that pop ups worked well but popped up about 2 foot

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities were better than expected, as you drive in you see an old tin shed and tin toilet but as you go round the corner you see the lodge with proper toilet and shower. There is also a large fridge and chest freezer

Were you happy with them?

They were really clean and all working as they should

I would recommend Old Oaks to people because it is a lovely looking lake with nice fish and a fantastic owner

Everything Angling Lines has done has been superb

General Comments:

Mehdi is a really nice guy and came over to check on what was happening every day, he was also checking the stock pond constantly. The area around the lake was lovely and well kept. The far bank was a bit wild which made the fish feel safe, we know that because each day one of us walked around looking in the margins. The lodge was clean and there is also a brick built BBQ for people to use.Great for people who are thinking about a first trip to France but go from Portsmouth to Caen not Dover to Calais

7 fish between us and lost 4. We had a 66.8, 52, 44, 39, 33.8, 22 and a 18 in giving us an average of 39.3lb.

General Comments:

Mehdi was really nice and Knowledgeable, always there on hand to help out and dropping bait off if needed. It’s definitely not an easy water to catch but would definitely recommend and the rewards are monsters! And really nice fish!

Details of your catches:

A really busy and productive week with 34 carp landed, 2 lost. With 3 x PBs broken! A haul topped by a ‘crazy big fish Thursday’ which included a 47 mirror, the fox common at 67 and then …… the long common at 76lb 4oz for Roy. A day we will never forget!

Reacting to the weather and moods of the fish and quickly observing their ‘daily routine’ helped set traps accordingly, including edge fishing by day and targeting deeper areas at night.

Just the job and really handy having the fridge and freezer to hand.

A great venue, and a great host and lovely to see it being a really ‘family run business' with a lovely personal touch.

Unfortunately the fishing was very hard due to low temps, but Tom managed to catch 3 38.10 mirror 48.10 mirror 35.5 mirror All caught fishing to the far margin using sae bait developments df2 and liver amino
