Details of your catches:

11 fish caught, 3 lost Jason peg 4/5 and 1 six fish 37/40/41/42/45 and 51 Stephen peg 3 four fish 35/37/38/40 Andy peg 2 one fish 35

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Started off using boillie and corn with snowmen hookbaits but after 1 or 2 fish we had to use bait wrap as the poison chats were abit of a problem. After this we switched to plastic hookbaits again over boillie corn and hemp. Also id surgest a stiff hooklink martieral with fox extra long anti tangle sleves just as when the chat were picking up ur hookbait they wud tangle a softer hooklink and u wudnt be fishing properly, i found this tactic stopped it an even if the chat picked it up the stiffness of the hooklink with the extra long anti tangle sleeve reset ur rig and you would still be fishing. Bait boats are very useful in warmer months as the fish like to sit right at the back of the trees . The last thing is ide use heavy leads to 5 oz grippers if fishing on or just off the far margin slope as it is very steep in places and smaller leads would roll down from a line bite or if the bigger chats were picking the hookbait up. I mention the chats alot but if fished correct then you can get around the problem easily just as long as you read the reviews and go propared, Medi as far as im aware is sorting the problem with the chats so dont let it put you off a fantastic venue. I would suggest if u have a small party to not sit behind motionless rods and reel in and go looking for the fish it may be worth just taking a few rods an the net down to another peg, i moved 3 times in the week because it was obvious the fish had moved. Peg 3 didnt have that problem because if the fish moved off after i had 1 or 2 in 4 or 5 they had to bypass 3 same situaition if i was in 1 or 2 so the angler in 3 usually picked a few fish up as they're moving through.

General Comments:

Mehdi is a great host, he greats you on arrival, takes you round and shows you the lodge. Then he walk the lake with you tell you how its been fishing and gives you his contact details before heading over the road back to Laroussi. He pretty much leaves you to it after that unless you need him and a quick message or phone call and he'll be there asap. Very welcoming friendly chap.

Details of your catches:

When we arrived we were met by the cheerful, bubbly man he is and well known for medhi, who remembered us from past visits. Great as the weather was and had been, medhi wasted no time in letting us know the previous week anglers found it very hard with only one fish. His face told the story which u could tell was felt my a member in our party, Medhi then turned it on the head with what he then said "I gave you the same news last time you visited and you turned it into impossible reversal". So with that in mind we set off cleared our heads and started again, we set up in pegs 1,2,4 and 5. 2 of the party were representing wraysbury baits with a couple of products still in test stage. So a small chody flicked to the far bank, the line hadn't completely settle and a bobbing was on but I was in which weighed in at 50lb 4oz. I had 2 more in the night. Nothing more came until Monday, dean in peg 2 found it hard going losing a cat Tuesday night and on Thursday up sticks and moved into 3 and unfortunately lost another 2 in quick succession due to a snag in open water, however managed to land 2 later in the week. Peg 4 was manned by 11 year old Alfie aka ginger nugget, had three fish two of which over 50lb+ and a back up 39lb. Paul in peg 5 must of had every fish in the lake living in his peg (man there was a lot and BIG) this guy never gave in he landed 6 also with a 50lb+ We ended the week with a total of 19. 1 dropped in 1 set up camp and adapted a no baiting approach.

Details of your catches:

Had a good week with 26 fish caught. This included 5 x 50s, 8 x 40s, 10 x 30s, 1 double, a 25lb grass carp and a 59lb catfish. Andy in Peg 1 had a brace of 50s, 30 minutes apart and also had a 50 the day before, 3 x 50s on the bounce - amazing fishing. All Pegs caught multiple fish and 4 of the party went home with personal bests (and a soaking!!)

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

The water level was quite high due to the amount of rain we had in the week and the week before. So the fish were very tight to the far bank. Also caught fish dropping baits to showing fish. Some bites came within seconds of putting the rods out, unbelieveable. Most fish were caught on snowman rigs on IQ D-rigs. The poisson chat were a bit of a menice, so we had to mesh baits and use artifical or hardened hookbaits most of the time. Variety of boilies worked, but most fish were caught on Nash 4G and the Key.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes, all you could want.

Were you happy with them?

Yes, good sized fridge and freezer. Shower was good with lots of hot water. Facilities were nice and clean on arrival.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes and we hope to be back soon.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes, always very helpful.
