Details of your catches:

We had 61 carp for the week I personally had 7 carp including a 41lb mirror and 40lb common. I moved from swim 6 where I had one fish to swim 9 on Tuesday when I had seen fish crashing and bagged the 40's.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

20mm Cell boilies... little and often. I fished in the silt at the back of a gravel bar at about 30 yards.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes... perfect. Good to have a fridge and freezer onsite.

Were you happy with them?

Yes.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes... deffo.

General Comments:

The lake was lovely and Frank the bailiff was always happy to advise but left you to get on with it. Supermarket was only a few minutes drive which was handy. Had a great holiday and would deffo go back.

Details of your catches:

Over 60 carp, all 9 of us caught carp along with catfish and sturgeon one easily over a 100lb, carp ranged from mid 20s to 49lb, fish in excellent condition

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Majority of fish came during the night, as already mentioned resting swim during day after pre baiting paid off, 20mm cell fished with chops and hemp

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities good, fridge, freezer shower, toilets spread around lake could be a good idea due to size of lake alongside rubbish bins

Were you happy with them?

Yes

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Definitely

General Comments:

Good week of angling with a good head of fish caught by all, Frank the bailiff gave a few pointers but left you to get on with your fishing

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

There was only one run in the day between all of us so baiting up in the morning and pulling rods in and resting the swim until the evening. The nights were manic with little or no sleep... not complaining though! I used about 20kg+ of boilies and a few tigers fished a rod length off the island point, one in the middle of the island back channel and one to the right margin. Top Tip.... hire a rowing boat.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes.... better.

Were you happy with them?

Yes.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes... A beautiful natural lake.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes.

General Comments:

We thought the lake would be really snaggy but was surprised that only the island end swims proved to be snaggy in the margins. The rest of the lake was gravel bars and silt with no snags. Frank the bailiff was always happy and smiling and willing to give advice but also left you alone to get on with your holiday. The lake was very dark and quiet at night with loads of wildlife.. tawny and barn owls, hedgehogs, vowls, buzzards, herons and cows in the field behind. The facilities were clean and tidy and the Fridge and Freezer was a great for food even though E.Leclerc supermarket was only a 4 minute drive. To sum up... we all had 30's, all had a good social, all want to go back and all had a brilliant holiday... thanks Angling Lines.
