Villefond Facilities
The facilities here have been newly built for the 2026 season and are set within a simple, comfortable cabin. Inside, you will find:
- A bathroom with toilet, shower and wash basin
- Sofa
- Gas cooker
- Stovetop kettle
- Sink for pot washing
- Various pots, pans and cutlery
- Dartboard
- Pool table
Outside, there is a table and chairs for dining and a BBQ. If the weather turns, the chairs can easily be brought inside. There is also a separate cabin which houses a second shower and toilet.
In terms of vehicle access, it is possible to drive to the bottom of the lake to unload but please note it is not possible to drive all the way round and so you will still need to walk your tackle to some of the swims. There is a trolley and a wheelbarrow available for your use. Once unloaded, vehicles must be returned to the car park.
Un-hooking mats are supplied free of charge and must be used to prevent the transfer of disease.
Utility Supplies
Please note that due to the lake's rural position, there is no mains electricity and so all power is provided by solar panels. Solar power packs are available for charging small devices like mobile phones. Larger batteries, i.e for bait boats can be taken off site to charge by the owners.
There is no large fridge or freezer by the lake so anglers bring their own coolers, however the bailiff delivers ice packs each day and is more than happy to take your bait/food/ice off site and deliver as needed. We usually recommend taking air-dried baits to help with this.
The facilities are connected to the mains water supply, making the water safe to drink.
There's no Wifi but for the most part you can get good internet coverage (4G) over your mobile provider. The owners are also happy for you to use the internet/computer at their house (around 3 miles away) if you need to.
Lakeside Cabin Option
This basic cabin (newly completed in 2018) is situated at swim 8 and is great to fish from in a bit more comfort than a bivvy. It saves all the hassle of packing away or setting up your bivvy especially in bad weather. It sleeps two on bunk beds and also contains a small table and chairs. It has solar lighting and can really save on the amount of gear you have to carry out here. You can add this option on when making your booking online.
General
A bar & restaurant are located a short walk away, the local bakery is only five minutes away and itβs a short 15 minute drive to the supermarkets of Bressuire and Parthenay.
