Villefond

Villefond Facilities

The facilities here are very basic but clean. There's a lodge which houses the toilet, shower & wash basin. There are also solar power packs available for charging small devices like mobile phones.

Note, that due to the lake's rural position, there is no mains electricity, all power is provided by solar panels. The facilities are connected to the mains water supply, making the water safe to drink.

There is no large fridge or freezer by the lake, however the bailiff delivers ice packs each day and is more than happy to take your bait/food/ice off site and deliver as needed. The same can be done for bait boat batteries etc. We usually recommend taking air-dried baits to help with this.

There's no Wifi but for the most part you can get good internet coverage (4g) over your mobile provider. The owners are also happy for you to use the internet/computer at their house (around 3 miles away) if you need to.

Un-hooking mats are supplied and must be used to prevent the transfer of disease.

It is possible to drive to the bottom of the lake to unload but please note it is not possible to drive all the way round and so you will still need to walk your tackle to some of the swims. There is a trolley and a wheelbarrow available for your use. Once unloaded, vehicles must be returned to the car park.

There is a static BBQ outside the facilities you are welcome to use.

Lakeside Cabin Option
This basic cabin (newly completed in 2018) is situated at swim 8 and is great to fish from in a bit more comfort than a bivvy. It saves all the hassle of packing away or setting up your bivvy especially in bad weather. It sleeps two on bunk beds and also contains a small table and chairs. It has solar lighting and can really save on the amount of gear you have to carry out here. You can add this option on when making your booking online.

General
A bar & restaurant are located a short walk away, the local bakery is only five minutes away and it’s a short 15 minute drive to the supermarkets of Bressuire and Parthenay.
