Villefond

Villefond Facilities

The facilities here have been newly built for the 2026 season and are set within a simple, comfortable cabin. Inside, you will find:

- A bathroom with toilet, shower and wash basin
- Sofa
- Gas cooker
- Stovetop kettle
- Fridge/freezer for food
- Sink for pot washing
- Various pots, pans and cutlery
- Dartboard
- Pool table
- Electrical sockets for charging items

Outside, there is a table and chairs for dining and a BBQ. If the weather turns, the chairs can easily be brought inside. There is also a separate cabin which houses a second shower and toilet.

In terms of vehicle access, it is possible to drive to the bottom of the lake to unload but please note it is not possible to drive all the way round and so you will still need to walk your tackle to some of the swims. There is a trolley and a wheelbarrow available for your use. Once unloaded, vehicles must be returned to the car park.

Un-hooking mats are supplied free of charge and must be used to prevent the transfer of disease.

Utility Supplies
Please note that due to the lake's rural position, there is no mains electricity and so all power is provided by a modern solar panel system. This provides enough power for charging items like phones and bait boat batteries.

Whilst there is a small fridge/freezer for keeping food supplies cool, there is no freezer storage for bait so we usually recommend taking air-dried baits to help with this.

The facilities are connected to the mains water supply, making the water safe to drink.

There's no Wifi but for the most part you can get good internet coverage (4G) over your mobile provider. If for some reason this was not enough, the owners are also happy for you to use the internet/computer at their house (around 3 miles away) if you need to.

Lakeside Cabin Option
This basic cabin (newly completed in 2018) is situated at swim 8 and is great to fish from in a bit more comfort than a bivvy. It saves all the hassle of packing away or setting up your bivvy especially in bad weather. It sleeps two on bunk beds and also contains a small table and chairs. It has solar lighting and can really save on the amount of gear you have to carry out here. You can add this option on when making your booking online.

General
A bar & restaurant are located a short walk away, the local bakery is only five minutes away and it’s a short 15 minute drive to the supermarkets of Bressuire and Parthenay.
