Vincons Fish
The lake was originally stocked in 1991 with 600 carp. Stocked equally with common and mirror carp, the fish have thrived in this very rich environment and successful spawning has led to a very impressive number of fish indeed. In the winters of 2017 and 2018 an additional four 40lb+ (biggest 46lb at time of stocking) and three 30lb+ carp were added.
The carp are still relatively "naive" so there's usually no need for sophisticated tactics - simple hair-rigged boilies are quite sufficient.
The average carp is in the 18-24lb bracket but there are lots of fish in the high 20’s too and a few up to mid 40's. So you're not going to catch absolute monsters all the time in here but there's plenty of them and they must rate amongst the hardest fighting fish we have ever caught – they just don’t know when to give up!
