Approximately 48 carp landed. At some points during the week it was really impossible to get all 3 rods in! 👌🏽😵💫 I was fishing with my 9 year old son as well as my wife and 6 year old daughter.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

We only fished with boilies and pink hookbaits with some added spices on them as well as using the mix. We caught a lot on our side of the lake, around 10 metres out, and some from the far side. It was really hard work with so much action, but no complaints at all! 🥳👌🏽

Were the facilities what you expected?

Everything was good, clean and peaceful. The only thing that could be improved is the door of the house. A proper door would be better than a fly screen door because the flies were driving us absolutely crazy.

Were you happy with them?

The rest of the week was really enjoyable. It is a great place for family time and relaxation and for the carp angler there is plenty of action. You can even catch them at night from the left hand side using a piece of bread crust on the surface. 👌🏽

Details of your catches:

To say this lake produces volume is possibly an understatement, I've never fished anything like this in my life.
Over 6 days, no over night fishing, we caught non stop. I believe on day 2 there were over 80 fish out. Getting a second rod out was almost impossible to do so.
The average fish were between 20lbs - 26lbs, there were a small head caught over the week from as little as 12lbs - 20lbs, with a handful over 30lbs. The largest fish was an 32.5lbs Common.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Main swim outside the cabin was producing down the left margin the best.
The second swim was from stump 2 - 4, and that was consistently producing 8-10 rod lengths out.
Small but consistent feeds, single pop up (all colours and flavours worked), however spicy 🌶️ based was just on another level. Any hot glug on the pop up was pretty much an instant take.
Snowman rig produced well.
We used a mixture of Parker Bait OG fish and Sticky Krill, along with a good particle mix.

Brilliant. Clean, and tidy. Exactly what you need. Nothing more, nothing less.

Already done so. This lake may not produce huge carp, but it sure produces volume and is just a lovely place to be. If it’s your 1st trip away, or your just wanting a week to catch then this is the place for you.

Alice and her family were incredibly kind and helpful from the day we arrived until the day we left. Constantly ensuring we were looked after and enjoying ourselves. They are an absolute blessing and we will most certainly be returning.

We were pulling out 18-32.5lb carp constantly and didn’t have enough hands to reel our rods in at some stages.

We used boilies and the salami smoked goo mainly, and it worked a treat

General Comments:

We had the best fishing trip ever. Having grown up in South Africa, fishing was a big part of my life. However, living in the UK for the last 23 years, I only started getting back into it about a year ago. This was my first experience fishing in France and I was fortunate enough to share it with my boys and best mate and his son. Overall great first experience fishing in France

It doesn’t really matter! Solid bags work well, but there are so many fish in there, anything works. It’s a good place to test rigs and gain confidence

3rd visit here and will continue to come. We have noticed the average weight slowly going up and is now around the 18-20lb mark. Managed one fish just on 30lb which after around 400 fish out of Vincons over 3 years is about time!!!
