General Comments:
Fishing was not easy had to work for each fish, fewer fish this time compared to last year but bigger fish caught. Weather was up and down and wind all over the place. But boux never fails to impress with fish in great condition and still as hard fighting as ever. Top venue.

Details of your catches:
Considering it was our first trip to Boux we had a really good week. Between 4 of us we had 31 carp including 6 x 50’s, the biggest being a 55lb 12oz common.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Generally we fishing to the far margin which produced bites on a regular basis but we also found that the fish were quite mobile and if there was an area of the lake that wasn’t being fished they went there pretty quickly so it paid to make sure that rods were moved. A variety of hook baits caught and in general we fished over a spread of boilies although it was certainly worth putting a bed of bait over a section of the far margin and fishing 3 rods to it.

General Comments:
Boux is a lovely lake and was just what we wanted in terms of tranquillity. The only improvement I can think of is that when we arrived (at the correct time) there was no sign of life. Eventually we worked out how to get to the lake and which building had the freezer etc so just looked after ourselves but it would have been nice if someone was around to point us in the right direction….

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Pop ups and zigs worked best, it was roasting hot. Fishing was really hard going, fished best in the day down dam wall by cattle end and by mud bank were cows drink.
