42lb was the only carp out not surprising due to the very high temperatures and we still felt the fish might be coming off the back of spawning.

Keeping cool ! Carp just not interested due to the heat. Carp came out on the last day!

Fish were spawning on arrival. Gave the fish some space to ensure they had finished and then tried all tactics and bait we had at our disposal with no luck as they fish were just not interested in feeding.

Yes more than adequate.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Based on the two fish we caught yes, as they were both in a very good order and fought hard.

I would however recommend that they ensured the fish had spawned prior to traveling to prevent them wasting 6 days like us.

Certainly your services have always been absolutely brilliant.

General Comments:

I don't want to moan but had we not been blessed with a strong wind on the second to last day which appeared to provoke a feeding response, I do believe that we would have completely blanked.

I would suggest that the fish had been spawning prior to our arrival as there was not enough activity for them to have all spawned on the one morning we witnessed them. I think that the lake owner should have notified Angling Lines who could have given us the option weather to have travelled or not.

The lake is in a lovely spot and was a pleasure to be around in the nice weather however if the weather had turned wet the woodland bank swims would be very treacherous with their current make up being compacted soil with exposed roots.

Details of your catches:

Holiday was lovely, Fish were hard work and close to spawning, carp were also feasting on crayfish, but I had 12 x carp upto 55lb including a couple of 40lbers , 2nd angler had 2x carp , and the other angler blanked.
