Details of your catches:

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
We caught well on both tiger nuts and boilies. A lot of the fish were held up in the weed near the far margin off the wooded bank and drifted out to feed. Its our 5th trip to Boux and patrol routes seem well established, we cant understand why 'car park corner' doesn't produce more fish!
Were the facilities what you expected?
Absolutely. No rubbish, clean house and with the heat the freezer was priceless!!
Were you happy with them?
Yes, totally
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes and have done several times
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes. The team were very helpful whilst we worried about possible delays due to the problems in Calais & with questions to the owner.
General Comments:
The week was unbelievably hot and clearly had an effect on the fish where it was hard to establish any feeding patterns. Also the pike can be a pain where they attack anything that moves - several fish were trailing line which we put down to the pike hitting back leads leaving tackle out in the water, best advise is not to use them! Despite a tough week, Boux is a beautiful place to escape to and is home to some truly wonderful carp.

Very slow and hard work getting them moving. Picked up later in the week. 58lb'er came out on the Sunday night. Reece at far end had most of the fish. But not the 58lb, that was mine, lol. Dave PB mirror - 49lb 5oz Glenn PB mirror - 58lb 13oz

Details of your catches:
Only 4 anglers travelled and we had a trip to be remembered!. We had 59 fish, 14x20's, 26x30's, 14x40's & 4x50's
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
We used Virus bait from Florestackle.com with boilie and tiger nut hook baits. We fished at long range to the far margin and baited heavily throughout the trip. We experienced heavy rain for 2 days. It rained for 13hrs solid and the lake rose by 4"!!!
Were the facilities what you expected?
The facilities were exactly what we expected, basic but sufficient.
Were you happy with them?
Yes
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Have done many times
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes, have and always will
General Comments:
The only moan we could have is the path to the lake from the car park is boggy at best and after the torrential rain it was a waders job!. It used to be in passable when I came before so I suppose it's an improvement!. No real drama as long as anglers take welly boots!

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Best time to catch fish was in the mornings. Good size fish were caught. Bait boat and bottom baits was used in general.
Were the facilities what you expected?
The facilities were clean and fit for purpose.
Were you happy with them?
Toilet and wash facilities were too far away and some fishermen used the woods. I feel it is important to inform guests that they may like to bring a portable toilet due to the distance of toilet facilities.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
I would like to return and would certainly recommend this venue to friends.

General Comments:
Phillip was welcoming and I enjoyed meeting him. Although Phillip and I spoke different language we were able to communicate well mainly by using gestures and hand signals. We applied antiseptic to a 53lb Mirror Carp which appeared to have an infection their side on our last morning but was unable to inform you.
