There were 26 carp caught between myself, Jim Kelly and David Keep.

My captures totaled 11 carp of 46lb 8oz, 40lb 2oz, 4 thirties to 39lb 9oz and 5 twenties.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

The carp did not show in my swim until the early hours of Thursday morning. I created a baited area with Quality Baits Patshull Park Squid and orange 18mil boilies put out by throwing stick at around 50 metres out in open water. All my fish fell to single bottom baits.

Yes. Piping hot water in shower with ample freezer facilities and fridge.

Yes. This is one of the best lakes in France.

General Comments:

We all struggled for the first few days possibly due to the previous weeks angling pressure and the water temperature which was 26C. Once the rains fell and cooled the lake the carp responded well to boilies. Crayfish caused a bit of a problem if a bait was placed in the margins, however fishing in open water they caused no problems to un-meshed boilies.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Baitboat using Tigernut over lake's particle mix. I fished the farthest peg on the wood side. Didn't get a take off the reeds - all over towards far side & cattle drink, around 25m off the far bank. No problem from the crayfish, but that's always the case when using Tigers.

General Comments:

A magical session, cut short for me by personal commitments. Fishing was quite tough but between the 3 of us we still had 26 carp so not too bad. I will definitely return!

very slow start no fish caught until Wednesday. Possibly due to the fact that 5 anglers fished the week before and caught 24 fish
