Details of your catches:
Very poor due to spawning 1 x 40, couple of 30's 2 x 20's
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
None really the 10 runs we had were all to different approaches
Were the facilities what you expected?
Not even close very disappointed with the state of the banks, distance to swims from car park, distance to toilets overall felt very misled. no one was there to meet us so we had no idea of what was what
Were you happy with them?
No

General Comments:
the owner of the venue showed no interest in our party or his lake we spotted a couple of dead fish & he didn't seem to care. We have fished in France many times & this was the most disappointing trip we have had

Details of your catches:
Four of us fished for the week (actually one camped!), between us we caught 8 x 20's 11 x 30's 8 x 40's The 40's included a 48 12 mirror for Matt, 44 8 common for Dave and a 44 grassie for John
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
During our stay this time we experienced a massive fly hatch which released so much natural food into the lake it was unbelievable ! You had to be there to really appreciate how rich the lake is & no wonder the fish are doing so well. Best tactic this time round was probably not to try & compete with that & just concentrate on small bags / patches & try to catch 1 fish at a time. Fishing the harder / shallower areas produced the majority of the fish & don't ignore the near margin of the wooded bank
Were the facilities what you expected?
4th visit so we knew exactly what to expect. The house was spotless with everything you might need. Absolutely no litter round the lake and we did our best to leave it just how we found it.
Were you happy with them?
Absolutely delighted. The lake & set up is a credit to the French owners & Angling Lines
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Have done, lots of times over the past 10 years
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes, really helpful & always available when required
General Comments:
We were worried about reports of problems with crays, rats, the low hanging trees on the wooded bank... we saw plenty of crays but experienced no problems even fishing bags of maggots; no rats; and the wooded bank didnt cause any issues. 1st time we've fished May (usually aim for September) & the weather (hail, rain, hard frosts, bitter northerly winds) was unexpected, so much for shorts ! Also due to the timing the fish were clearly ready to spawn & whilst some weights were up it does make you appreciate the closed season as I honnestly believe they deserve some 'time alone' to do their thing. Finally the richness of the lake caught us out - plenty of signs of bloodworm on hooks etc and the fly hatch, wow! The swallows had a feast and judging by the balls of larve on your lines / in the lake the fish didnt do too bad either! You could just imaging them sitting midwater with their mouths open, just waiting... 4th time we've fished it in 10 years so we clearly love it. The water levels are the highest we have seen them, the banks very well constructed & everytime the lake just 'soaks you up' into rural France. Also dont ignore Mouline Engilbert - the local bars & family restaurants are an experience not to be missed anytime of the day. Finally, great venue to celebrate John's 40th! Happy birthday JP !!!

Details of your catches:
30 odd fish . We had only 3 carp under 30lb. we had 3 x 50's and 5 x 40's all the rest over 30.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Most of the carp came from the far bank near where the cattle graze. We used maize mostly and did very well. We used blow back rigs most baits just on the bottom with maize and chopped up boilies.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes. Ok. The shower head needs attending to. This is the third time we've been there and the banks are so slippy when wet. We used the boat to bait out as casting wasn't easy as tree's were overhanging in places. If he cut back a few of the trees to make more space and light for longer distance casting it would be better.
Were you happy with them?
Yes, no gripes love the lake overall.

Details of your catches:
36 fish total, 8 losses(4 from Snags (same snag 2 fish each)). Fish 6 x Mike, 14 x Lee, 16 x Pete. 3 x 50's,all mirrors. 8 x 40's 5 x Commons & 3 Mirrors. one 19 & 3 20's to Lee, 1 x 20 to Mike and 2 x 20's to Pete. Rest of fish in 30 lb bracket. Largest carp were 51.00 Mirror Mike. 50.03 to Lee and 52.13 to Pete. Fishing was very hard indeed! Had to work for evey fish! and fish seemed very down on weight! Fish we expected to go 40+ were scrapeing low 30lb. Due to constant bad weather in France since winter? No weed growth at all! very unusual for Boux. Weather was very bad, everything from huge storms lasting two+ days to freezing fog! Group before had packed up and left on Thursday!
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Most fish came over Fishmeal Boilies. double 20mm or double 18mm were best. 3-5' of water to far bank seemed best. Unusually most takes came into darkness. most days, we only had one feeding spell from dusk (9pm ish) through to midnight. Cray's were more of an issue this time, taking off even very hard baits! Defo cost us overnight fish. We all had to use mesh by mid week (Never had to do this, and between our circle of friends, we have fished Boux reg for over 12 years)
Were the facilities what you expected?
Been 3 x before myself, just about the same, although had been freshly painted. Path to Woods bank swim is still dreadful, with wet feet every time unless you wore wellies! Much improved the access in two pegs on the wood bank, steps cut in. Big improvment! Would be nice in more though.
Were you happy with them?
Shower Head was broken when we arrived, would have been good if fixed, but sorted with Gaffer tape. Path could be improved (They had the stone for the path in a big pile in the car park, and had done some work). Should inform people of water colour! Brown, like tea without milk..... Did put Lee off showering in it a bit!
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes, and would go back again (3 trips for mysef so far)and really like the place. Phillepe, is great, and although his english is minimal, he's very friendly!
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes, very easy, and Tunnel was a joy..... We are thinking of booking Boux again....
General Comments:
The Boat was left drifting at the far margin when we arrived. I had to swim out to fetch it! Not at all impressed, after 10 hours driving!
