Details of your catches:
We had 51 fish in total, 4 singles, 21 doubles, 14 x 20's, 11 x 30's to 39lb 14oz and 1 x 40. Biggest Common 33lb 8oz. Biggest Mirror 40lb exactly.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
We fished meshed 18mm single hook baits over a bed of pellet, parti-blend and hemp with a few freebies boated to within 8 and 30 feet of the far bank.

General Comments:
We had an excellent week. The weed had died off so that wasn't a problem for us. The Crayfish were a problem on the first night so we meshed our hook baits and still caught plenty of fish. The facilities were really good they were clean and more than adequate. Access to the woods bank was quite muddy which we didn't mind. Take a pair of wellies if you plan to fish there.

General Comments:
Woodland bank needs some work. The lake would benefit by having a toilet nearby. You will need to boat out the majority of your baits. Great fishing and left alone to enjoy it.

Details of your catches:
A total of 33 fish. 5x doubles, 17x twenties, 9x thirties, 2x forties. Largest grass carp was 31.5lb. Largest common was 34lb. Largest mirrors were 40lb 4oz and 42.5lb.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Two tiger nuts fished over a bed of hemp and pellet. Boilies were hampered by crayfish and unexpectedly by pike! PVA bags of PVA stick mixes were used to bury the hook to prevent getting stuck in the weed on the way down. Lost countless fish in the weed which is now present.

Better than last visit to same venue.

General Comments:
The shower block has been renovated which is good, however the block is still a 5 minute drive from the lake. Some basic lakeside amenities would make the venue perfect, or simply a shed to offer some respite from the sun. I am guessing that the lake must have been netted since our first visit in 2003, and all the small carp removed, as our catch rate dropped from 100+ fish to 33. This is a good thing as the fish caught were better and bigger. the number of pike in the lake needs controlling - these were prone to taking fishmeal boilies and snapping you off on the retrieval. Access to the woods bank swims was terrible (as echoed by many others in the log book). It was overgrown with 8-10 inches of mud - nothing that a couple of tonnes of stone or dropping the fence back a metre wouldn't fix. All in all an excellent weeks fishing enjoyed by all.

General Comments:
Second trip to Boux lived up to our expectations. Impressed with the quality and hard fight with most fish weed bank in front of us had to use boat to land a lot of fish. Enjoyed the trip & will be booking for 2007.
