Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
1. Baited areas of boilies and tigernut within casting range. 2. Bait Boats to the far margins. 3. Odd fish on solid PVA bags.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes, we knew what we were getting from the excellent video review in July. You have to use your car to get to the farm buildings where the shower, freezer and fridge are - But these are very good and clean. The compost toilet near the lake car park is fine for everyday use, just leave the door open to stop the smell from being overpowering :)
Were you happy with them?
Yes, they were everything that you require for a drive and survive venue. If you could park behind your swims, the lake would be up there with the best of them. The track is a bit rough and bumpy, but we coped fine with it - barrowing our gear to the wooded pegs bank.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes, I think we may come back for another go soon.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Angling lines have been excellent communicators every time I have dealt with them, quickly sorting out any issues that arose during the run up to getting to the lake.
General Comments:
All four of us fished the wooded bank pegs. Unlike the previous group, we found no real issues with the weed. There was a pretty thin bank of weed along the length of the lake around 60yds out, with odd small patches around the lake. The fish came easily through this weed with a tight line and we only dropped a fish or 2 each during the week - More due to barbless hooks than the weed. The small pike were more of an issue, grabbing baits on the retrieve and swimming into your lines mid-water - I had to respool twice during the week.

General Comments:
On the arrival to the venue, we first inspected the prime swims which are recommended on your web site but found it would be detrimental to both our party of anglers and the fish so we opted for the dam wall instead. With two anglers fishing to the reeds and straight out in mid water and the third just in mid water, avoiding the main blanketed area of weed which covered 2/3rds of the lake. Firstly some serious ground construction works are required to access the prime swims and to also introduce grass carp to control the weeds. *Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback. The owner confirms that action will be taken to improve the anglers pathway over this winter in conjunction with the owner of the land.

Details of your catches:
We caught 4 fish due to extreme 42 degrees heat Biggest 45lb some were caught from the shallows and others in mid water around 11ft on plastic baits and sticky bait krill, the water is vey weedy at the moment off the bank just a heads up
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Plastic baits and krill sticky baits

General Comments:
Overall lovely venue with beautiful surroundings. Overall just felt like the lake could have some work done to make it even nicer, we found lowering the bait boat into the water awkward

Details of your catches:
28 fish landed during the week between 4 anglers. 3 fish under 20lb's 6 fish 20-30lb's 7 fish 30-40lb's 9 fish 40-50lb's 3 fish over 50lb's - 51lb, 51lb 4 oz & 56lb 4oz
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Crays seemed quite active in all depths so reduced reliance on boilies as the week progressed. Dynamite tiger nuts never fail! Some fish came from the shallow margins close to the far bank patrol routes but the majority were caught in the silt between weedbeds in c6ft of water. Due to water temperature and the sun the weed growth just in the week we were there was phenomenal!
Were the facilities what you expected?
Absolutely! Clean house, fridge and freezer are a luxury and after a quick hello with Philippe when you arrive he leaves you to get on with the fishing. Additional toilet in the woods is 100% better than a portaloo, for those that have moaned prevuiously, accept its basic and embrace nature! Paths are a little uneven but thats the Boux charm.
Were you happy with them?
Very happy.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes, have done before & will again. Boux isnt an easy venue, fish do hold up in specific areas and if they dont move you can't catch whats not in front of you!
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes. Always found the team at Anglings Lines professional and helpful. Thank you.
General Comments:
Fish clearly had spawned. Regrettably not all survive this and there were 4 fish carcasses in advanced stages of decomposition caught in the margin reeds on the dam wall, it would have been appreciated if these could have been removed. Also several fish were trailing line where we assume the pike are attacking back leads causing bite offs. Best advice, don't use backleads, at Boux its suicidal and you don't need them. Final moan at our fellow anglers, its not acceptable to leave cans, bottles, batteries, disacarded line etc. in the swims. If you did it in the UK you'd be banned. Boux is a beautiful lake and its a privilege to fish it, treat it with the respect it deserves!
