Round-up of the week, 19th Apr

VERY, VERY NICE WEEK fishing, congratulation to all the fishermans. Not an easy weeks fishing, wind from north, cold & 2 days morning -2°C.

Brocard Small - 6 anglers caught 93 carp biggest 46.86 lbs

Brocard Large - 8 anglers caught 101 carp (including 3 grass carps, biggest 59.4 lbs). Biggest carp 11 x 41.8 - 43.78 lbs, 2 x 44 lbs, 2 x 47lbs, 53.9lbs mirror & 55.22lbs common

Facilities Upgrade, 4th Apr

Fantastic news for any anglers coming out to the venue, we have proper shower/toilet facilities right here!

You no longer have to drive to take a shower, we have a cabin on site (based inbetween the two lakes) with a clean, modern shower and toilet. As of this week we will have electricity too.

The lakeside track has also been re-done to make access easier for our anglers.

Brocard Small carp lake receives an additional stocking this January including a handful of forties and fifties and a further 30 carp between 20-30lb.

How To Get The Best Out Of A Swim, By Paul Cooper, 17th Oct

It was mid October when Jim Kelly and I visited Brocard Small lake. Small does not describe this lake correctly. It is around 29 acres, this being the lesser acreage of two lakes set in a huge forested area, with the larger being around 39 cares. There are approximately 350 carp in Brocard Small as with around 500 in Brocard Large.

Swims 1 to 4 are generously spaced on the small lake, with swims 5 to 12 on the large lake. Our job was to test Brocard Small. On our arrival I plumbed and leaded various sections of this lake. I settled to fish swim 3. Jim jumped into swim 2 and by mid afternoon we were ready to cast a line.
